You sleep in a one bedroom suite at Trademark Suites at Enaki Town, in the leafy suburb of Nyari, with a king bed, a private balcony, a kitchen of your own and two outdoor pools. When you arrive at the door together, a small welcome note and a treat are already set up, the moment their cover story falls apart.
From there, the trip belongs to both of you. The next morning one private tour van is kept for you from before sunrise, a dawn game drive, orphaned elephants at their mud bath, giraffes eating from your hand, a long lunch and a slow drive back through the city, all of it a surprise they are only now catching up on.

Suite for Two: Your suite has a king bed, a lounge, a private balcony and a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee and tea station. There is also a study desk, a laptop size safe, a smart TV and two bottles of mineral water a day.
The Door Reveal: Both outdoor pools are free for guests, and the door to your suite is where the surprise actually lands. A note and a small welcome treat are set up just before you arrive, so the reveal happens the moment the door opens, not later.
Nyari, Believable Enough to Not Raise Questions: The suites sit in a quiet green suburb near Karura Forest. It is close enough to Nairobi that most cover stories hold up on the drive there, and far enough that the surprise still feels like a proper escape.
Breakfast Included: Breakfast is part of your room rate every morning. On day two you leave before the restaurant opens, so we ask the hotel to pack your breakfast for the road.
Nairobi National Park: Your tour van has a roof that lifts, so you can stand up and watch the plains with the city skyline behind them. Lions, giraffe, zebra and rhino live in the park. Sightings are never guaranteed, but the early start gives you the best chance.
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nursery: Once a day the Trust opens its orphan elephant nursery for a public hour, when the young ones run out for their milk and a mud bath and a keeper tells each orphan's story. Baecation books the visit for you, and the Trust confirms every booking itself and takes none on the day, so please book at least a week before you travel.
Giraffe Centre: The Giraffe Centre in Lang'ata was set up in 1979 to protect the Rothschild's giraffe. You climb a raised platform to eye level and feed them by hand, still catching each other up on how the surprise was pulled off.
City Drive Home: On the way back to the hotel your guide takes the long route through Nairobi, past Uhuru Park, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre and Parliament Buildings.

Day 1: The Reveal
Morning: The Cover Story
Stick to whatever story got them into the car. An errand, a friend, a lazy brunch plan, anything ordinary enough that Nyari does not feel like a strange direction to be driving in.
Afternoon: The Door Opens
Lead them to the suite as if it is just another stop. Inside, a welcome note and a small treat are waiting, along with the bag you packed for them in secret. This is the moment the whole story falls apart, in the best way. Once it lands, unpack together, take a swim in one of the two pools, and let the rest of the day be exactly as relaxed as any holiday.
Evening: Catching Them Up
They will have questions. Answer as many as you like over room service or the free shuttle to Village Market for dinner. Turn in reasonably early, since tomorrow starts before sunrise and neither of you saw that coming either.
Day 2: The Trip They Did Not See Coming
Morning: A Dawn Game Drive
Your driver guide collects you both at 5:15 am with a packed breakfast, so the van is at the park gate when it opens at 6. Stand up together through the raised roof as the plains open out with the city skyline behind the grass. Your guide tracks lions, giraffe, zebra and rhino for you, then brings you to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery for the public hour, when the orphaned elephants come out for milk and mud.
Afternoon: Giraffes, Then Lunch to Compare Notes
A short drive from the nursery brings you to the Giraffe Centre, where a giraffe's tongue on your palm tends to produce the same reaction in everyone, surprised or not. Lunch is your choice of Carnivore, Galleria Mall or Mamba Village, and this is usually where the full story of how you planned it all finally comes out. We reserve the table either way.
Evening: Nairobi, Still Catching Up
Your guide takes the scenic route back through the city, past Uhuru Park, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre and Parliament Buildings. Worn out from the early start? Skip the city drive and head straight back for the pool instead. Room service, a swim or the Surprise Dinner for Two from the Add Ons tab are waiting either way.
Day 3: Still Not Over It
Morning: A Slow One, No Surprises This Time
Breakfast runs in the restaurant at your own pace. Want one more stop before you go? Choose the Departure Day Tour in the Add Ons tab, which takes you through Karura Forest and the Nairobi National Museum on the way to JKIA. Otherwise the pool and the balcony are yours until check out.
Afternoon: Home, With a Story to Tell
Couples staying in Nairobi drive themselves home. Couples travelling on can add a drop off to JKIA or Nairobi Terminus in the Add Ons tab, and can round off the trip with ice skating at Panari Hotel.
