The Giraffe Centre has protected the Rothschild's giraffe, one of the rarest giraffe subspecies left, since 1979. A raised wooden platform brings you right up to eye level, and feeding one by hand tends to be the funniest ten minutes of most people's Nairobi trip, not the most serene.
Unlike the David Sheldrick nursery next door, there is no single hour to catch here. The Centre is open daily and a visit takes thirty to forty five minutes at whatever pace you like, which makes this the easiest of the three new products to fit around anything else on your day.
A private saloon car collects you from your Nairobi home or hotel, waits through the visit, and brings you back. No group, no shared van, no fixed slot to arrive for.

Home of the Rothschild's Giraffe: Run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife since 1979, the Centre has been central to bringing the Rothschild's giraffe back from the edge of extinction in Kenya.
The Feeding Platform: A raised wooden deck puts you at the same height as the giraffes, close enough to feed one from your open palm. It is a small, slightly ridiculous, thoroughly memorable few minutes.
No Fixed Hour: Open daily, with no single visiting slot to plan around, unlike Sheldrick's strict eleven to noon window next door.
Your Private Saloon Car: A saloon car with a driver collects you, waits, and returns you to your starting point, at whatever time of day suits you.

Pickup, Whenever Suits You
Your driver collects you from your Nairobi home or hotel. There is no fixed slot to catch here, so this can be a morning stop, a midday break, or a late afternoon one.
At the Platform
Climb the raised wooden deck, hold out a pellet, and let a Rothschild's giraffe take it from your hand. Most visits run thirty to forty five minutes, longer if you are having too much fun to leave.
Back On Your Way
Your driver is waiting when you are ready. From here you can head straight back, or extend the day with lunch at Carnivore, Mamba Village or Galleria Mall, available in the Add Ons tab.
