You do not need three days in Nairobi to see what makes it different from every other capital in the world. You need one, done properly, starting before sunrise.
A private tour van collects you before dawn and has you at the Nairobi National Park gate when it opens at six, roof raised, tracking lions, giraffe, zebra and rhino while the city skyline stands behind the grass. From there it is a short drive to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery for the daily public hour, orphaned elephants at their milk and mud bath, then on to the Giraffe Centre to feed a Rothschild's giraffe by hand. Lunch is your choice of Carnivore, Galleria Mall or Mamba Village, and the day closes with a drive back through the city itself, past Uhuru Park, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre and Parliament Buildings, before you are dropped back where you started.

One Private Vehicle, the Whole Day: A Toyota Hiace tour van with a roof that lifts, kept for you from before sunrise until you are dropped back at the end of the day, with a driver guide throughout.
Nairobi National Park at Dawn: Lions, giraffe, zebra and rhino live in the park, with the city skyline behind them. Sightings are never guaranteed, but the early start gives you the best chance.
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nursery: The Trust opens its orphan elephant nursery for one public hour a day, when the young ones come in for milk and mud while a keeper tells each one's story. Booked in advance, at least a week ahead, since the Trust confirms every visit itself and takes none on the day.
Giraffe Centre: Set up in 1979 to protect the Rothschild's giraffe, a raised platform brings you to eye level to feed one by hand.
City Drive: The day closes with a drive back through Nairobi, past Uhuru Park, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre and Parliament Buildings, before you are dropped at your hotel, home or the airport.

Your driver guide has you at the gate when it opens. Stand up through the raised roof as the plains open out with the city skyline behind the grass, tracking lions, giraffe, zebra and rhino for as long as the morning allows.
Mid Morning, Sheldrick and the Giraffe Centre
From the park it is a short drive to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery for the eleven o'clock public hour, then on to the Giraffe Centre to feed a Rothschild's giraffe by hand.
Afternoon, Lunch and the City
Lunch is your choice of Carnivore, Galleria Mall or Mamba Village, reserved on your behalf. Your guide then drives you back through Nairobi, past Uhuru Park, the Kenyatta International Conference Centre and Parliament Buildings, before dropping you where you started.
