Affordable Istanbul Honeymoon Package from Nairobi | 6 Days 5 Nights
Sirkeci Mansion and Sultan Cave Suites or similar
Three nights in Istanbul and two in a cave hotel in Cappadocia, with a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus, a hot air balloon flight at dawn and your flights and Turkish visa from Nairobi in one price.
Affordable Istanbul Honeymoon Package from Nairobi: six days and five nights across two very different sides of Turkey, with direct return economy flights from JKIA on Turkish Airlines, return flights between Istanbul and Cappadocia, checked baggage, your Turkish visa and the travel health insurance the visa requires all taken care of. You begin with three nights with breakfast at Sirkeci Mansion, about ten minutes on foot from Hagia Sophia, then fly to Cappadocia for two nights with breakfast at Sultan Cave Suites, a cave hotel terraced above Göreme village. Your days take in Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapı Palace, a Bosphorus dinner cruise, a shared hot air balloon flight over the valleys of Cappadocia and the rock cut churches of the Göreme Open Air Museum.
Balloons only fly in safe weather, so we hold two dawn chances for you, and if both are grounded we refund the balloon part of your price. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below, and one Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.
A honeymoon should feel like two trips in one: a city to explore together and somewhere quiet to slow down. This one gives you both. Istanbul brings the domes, the bazaars and an evening on the Bosphorus with the palaces lit up along both shores. Cappadocia brings the silence of the valleys, a room carved into the rock and the morning you rise above the fairy chimneys in a balloon basket as the sun comes up.
The order is deliberate. You spend the first three days in Istanbul while your energy is high, then take a short domestic flight of about an hour and a quarter to Cappadocia, where the pace drops. On your last day you fly back to Istanbul in the early afternoon and connect at the same airport to your evening flight home.
We built the balloon flight around the weather rather than hoping for it. Your first chance is the morning after you arrive in Cappadocia, and your last morning is held as a second chance. Most couples fly on the first. If the authorities ground every balloon on both mornings, the balloon part of your price comes back to you.

About Package
More information about this package
Two hotels, two moods: Three nights at Sirkeci Mansion in Istanbul, then two nights at Sultan Cave Suites in Göreme, or comparable hotels confirmed at booking. Both rates include breakfast.
Your Istanbul hotel: Sirkeci Mansion is a hotel of 32 rooms in Sirkeci, about ten minutes on foot from Hagia Sophia, with a heated indoor pool open from 10am to 10pm, a traditional hammam, a sauna and its own restaurant, Neyzade.
Your cave hotel: Sultan Cave Suites sits on terraces above Göreme village, the heart of Cappadocia, with views over the valley where the balloons rise at dawn. Rooms range from classic rooms to fairy chimney suites.
The old city: Your tickets cover the upper gallery of Hagia Sophia with its Byzantine mosaics, the Basilica Cistern and Topkapı Palace with the Harem and Hagia Irene. The Blue Mosque is free to visit outside prayer times.
Dinner on the Bosphorus: One evening in Istanbul you are collected from the hotel for a dinner cruise past the lit palaces and mosques of both shores, with live music and a Turkish night show.
Your balloon flight: A shared hot air balloon flight of about an hour over the valleys of Cappadocia, with hotel pickup before dawn, a light breakfast, a champagne toast on landing and a flight certificate. Baskets carry about 14 to 20 people.
Two chances to fly: Balloon flights only go ahead when the Turkish authorities allow them on the day, and winter mornings are grounded more often than summer ones. We book your flight on your first Cappadocia morning and hold your last morning as a second chance. If both mornings are cancelled for weather, we refund USD 330 per person, the balloon part of your price.
Rock cut churches: The Göreme Open Air Museum is a UNESCO listed valley of monasteries and chapels carved into the rock, many painted with Byzantine frescoes. Your entry is included, and it is a short ride or a walk of about half an hour from your hotel.
Your Turkish visa: Most Kenyan couples need a visa from the Turkish Embassy in Nairobi. You apply online first, then each of you attends an appointment at the embassy with your documents, where the USD 60 fee is paid in cash. The fee is included in your price. Couples who already hold a valid sticker visa or residence permit for the Schengen area, the UK, the US or Ireland can use the official Turkish e Visa instead. Allow about four weeks before you fly, and approval rests with the Turkish authorities alone.
Travel health insurance: The embassy asks every applicant for travel health insurance covering the whole stay. It is included in your price and your planner sends the certificate with your visa documents.
Travel cover: Istanbul and Cappadocia are open and busy with visitors. Like any big city, Istanbul has pickpockets in the crowded areas and occasional demonstrations, which you should avoid. We book changeable fares where Turkish Airlines offers them and tell you straight away if official travel advice changes before you fly.
Honeymoon touches: Tell us it is your honeymoon and we let both hotels know. Any welcome gesture is at each hotel's discretion and is not guaranteed.
One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner books your visa appointment with you, sends your e tickets, insurance and vouchers before you fly and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If a balloon morning is cancelled or a flight moves, you message one person instead of four companies.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
Affordable Istanbul Honeymoon Package Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
Flight times change with the season. From late October to late March, Turkish Airlines usually leaves JKIA before dawn and lands in Istanbul just before noon, and the flight home leaves Istanbul in the evening and lands at JKIA in the early hours. The days below follow that schedule. From late March, when the flight home leaves Istanbul in the afternoon, we run the trip the other way round, Cappadocia first and Istanbul second, so both balloon mornings still fit. Your planner confirms the exact times on your written quote before you pay. Topkapı Palace closes on Tuesdays, the Grand Bazaar closes on Sundays and on the first days of religious holidays, Hagia Sophia's visitor route closes around Friday noon prayers and the Blue Mosque pauses visits at prayer times, so your planner sets the Istanbul days around them.
Day 1: Nairobi to Istanbul
Morning: Wheels Up from JKIA Your direct flight leaves JKIA before dawn, so reach the airport about three hours before departure. Carry your passports with your Turkish visas, your travel insurance certificate, e tickets and hotel vouchers. About seven hours later you land on the same clock you left.
Afternoon: Into the Old City Clear immigration at Istanbul Airport, collect your bags and meet your driver in the arrivals hall for the drive of about 50 minutes to Sirkeci. Settle in, and if your room is not ready yet, leave your bags and take a first coffee nearby.
Evening: Between Two Domes Walk about ten minutes to Sultanahmet Park, where Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque face each other across the fountain. Step inside the Blue Mosque outside prayer time, then choose a small restaurant for your first dinner as a married couple in Istanbul.
Overnight: Sirkeci Mansion or similar Meals: None included
Day 2: Mosaics, a Cistern and a Palace
Morning: Hagia Sophia and the Cistern After breakfast, walk to Hagia Sophia as the visitor route opens and climb to the upper gallery to see the Byzantine mosaics up close. Then cross the road to the Basilica Cistern, where rows of ancient columns rise out of the water in the half light.
Afternoon: Topkapı Palace Spend the afternoon at Topkapı Palace, home of the Ottoman sultans for four centuries. Your ticket covers the courtyards, the Harem and Hagia Irene, and the palace terraces look out over the Bosphorus.
Evening: Pool Hours Back at the hotel, warm up in the indoor pool or the hammam, then find dinner a short walk away.
Overnight: Sirkeci Mansion or similar Meals: Breakfast
Day 3: Bazaars and the Bosphorus
Morning: The Grand Bazaar After breakfast, lose yourselves in the covered lanes of the Grand Bazaar, then walk down to the Spice Bazaar for Turkish delight, coffee and saffron. On a Sunday, your planner swaps in the Spice Bazaar and the waterfront at Eminönü, as the Grand Bazaar is closed.
Afternoon: Galata and Karaköy Walk across the Galata Bridge, where the fishermen line the rails, and up through the lanes of Karaköy to Galata Tower. Head back to the hotel to rest and dress for the evening.
Evening: Dinner on the Bosphorus You are collected from the hotel for your Bosphorus dinner cruise. Dinner is served as the boat sails past the lit palaces and mosques of both shores, with live music and a Turkish night show.
Overnight: Sirkeci Mansion or similar Meals: Breakfast and dinner
Day 4: Istanbul to Cappadocia
Morning: A Short Flight East After an early breakfast, your driver takes you back to Istanbul Airport for the late morning Turkish Airlines flight to NevÅŸehir Kapadokya Airport, about an hour and a quarter in the air.
Afternoon: Into the Valleys Your driver meets you on arrival for the drive of about 35 minutes to Göreme. Check in at your cave hotel, then walk the village lanes between the fairy chimneys.
Evening: Sunset Over Göreme Climb the short path to the viewpoint above the village to watch the light change over the valleys, then have dinner in the village. Try the testi kebab, slow cooked in a sealed clay pot that is cracked open at your table.
Overnight: Sultan Cave Suites or similar Meals: Breakfast
Day 5: Above the Fairy Chimneys
Morning: Your Balloon Flight Your pickup comes before dawn. After a light breakfast at the launch site, you climb into the basket and rise over the valleys as the sun comes up, drifting for about an hour among dozens of other balloons. You land to a champagne toast and your flight certificate, then return to the hotel for breakfast. If the balloons are grounded today, your second chance is tomorrow morning.
Afternoon: The Göreme Open Air Museum Walk or ride to the Göreme Open Air Museum to explore the rock cut chapels and monasteries, many painted with Byzantine frescoes. The Dark Church is ticketed separately on the day if you would like to see it.
Evening: Nowhere to Be After an early start, keep the evening slow. Have dinner in the village or stay in and watch the valley go dark from your terrace.
Overnight: Sultan Cave Suites or similar Meals: Breakfast
Day 6: Cappadocia to Nairobi
Morning: Balloons at Breakfast If you flew yesterday, take a slow breakfast and watch the balloons rise over the valley, weather permitting. If yesterday was grounded, this is your second balloon morning, and you are back at the hotel in good time to check out.
Afternoon: Back to Istanbul Check out and your driver takes you to NevÅŸehir Kapadokya Airport for the early afternoon flight to Istanbul. You land at the same airport as your flight home, with time for a meal before you check in.
Evening: Flying Home Your evening flight leaves Istanbul for JKIA, and you touch down in the early hours, married for a little longer and with a balloon certificate to frame.
