Affordable Kigali Package from Nairobi | 4 Days 3 Nights
Park Inn by Radisson Kigali or similar
Four days in Kigali from Nairobi: a direct morning flight, no visa to apply for, three nights in leafy Kiyovu with breakfast, a guided day through the city's history, markets and art and a walk through Nyamirambo with the women who live there, in one price.
Affordable Kigali Package from Nairobi: four days and three nights with direct return economy flights from JKIA and checked baggage on your fare. Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Rwanda, so there is no visa fee and no embassy queue. You stay three nights with breakfast at Park Inn by Radisson Kigali in Kiyovu, a quiet, green neighbourhood close to the city centre, with private airport transfers on arrival and departure.
Your days take in a guided city day with a private driver: the Kigali Genocide Memorial with an audio guide, the stalls of Kimironko Market and the studios of Inema Arts Center. You also join a walking tour of Nyamirambo, one of Kigali's oldest neighbourhoods, led by the Nyamirambo Women's Center, with a Rwandan lunch. You need a yellow fever certificate. Your planner walks you through it. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below. One Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.
Kigali surprises most Kenyans who visit. The flight is shorter than the drive to Mombasa, the streets are spotless, the hills are green from end to end and the evenings are cool enough for a jacket. It is a city for walking, eating well and talking late over coffee, with a history you will want to understand before you leave.
We base you in Kiyovu on purpose. It is one of Kigali's calm, leafy neighbourhoods on the hill above the city centre, close to restaurants, galleries and the Kigali Convention Centre area. Park Inn by Radisson gives you a modern hotel with an outdoor pool and a spa at a price that leaves room for good dinners out.
The days are paced for two people on a short break. You land in the morning, so the first day is yours to settle in. One guided day takes you through the city, one morning in Nyamirambo shows you how Kigali lives. Your last day stays slow until your evening flight home.

About Package
More information about this package
Your hotel: Three nights at Park Inn by Radisson Kigali in Kiyovu or a comparable hotel confirmed at booking, in a Standard Room with a queen bed, with breakfast every morning.
At the hotel: Park Inn has 161 rooms and suites, an outdoor pool with a pool bar, a fitness centre and an on site spa. The Live Inn Room restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at noon. The hotel stores your bags on your last day.
Where you are: Kiyovu sits on a hill close to the city centre. The Kigali Genocide Memorial and Inema Arts Center are each a short drive away. Kigali International Airport is about 25 minutes by car.
Direct flights: Kenya Airways and RwandAir both fly nonstop between JKIA and Kigali in about an hour and a half, with checked baggage on your fare. You land in the morning and fly home in the evening, so both travel days still give you time in the city. Kigali is one hour behind Nairobi.
A guided city day: Your driver guide takes you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the final resting place of more than 250,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The visit is quiet and unhurried, with an audio guide. Many visitors need two to three hours. Afterwards you move on to Kimironko Market, where fabric sellers, tailors, basket weavers and fruit stalls fill the halls, then to Inema Arts Center, where Rwandan artists paint and sculpt in their own studios.
Nyamirambo on foot: The Nyamirambo Women's Center was founded in 2007 by women from the neighbourhood and runs walking tours led by local women. You walk through one of Kigali's oldest and liveliest neighbourhoods, past tailors, hair salons, mosques and milk bars, then sit down to a Rwandan lunch in a local home.
Before you fly: Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Rwanda. Each of you needs a passport valid for at least six months from the day you land with a blank page. You also each need a yellow fever certificate, with the vaccine given at least 10 days before you fly. Carry your return tickets, hotel vouchers and a bank card.
Full entry guide: Every entry rule, with the official links, is explained on our Kigali page at baecation.co.ke/kigali.
Rwanda's rules: Plastic bags are banned and are taken away on arrival. On the last Saturday of each month, Umuganda community work closes most services from 7am to 11am. Photographing government buildings, military sites and the police is not allowed.
Respect at the memorial: Dress smart and modest, keep your voices low and follow your guide. Avoid asking Rwandans about ethnicity or their own experience of 1994. Let the memorial tell the story.
Staying safe: Kigali is calm and easy to walk by day. Use your driver, a hotel taxi or a licensed taxi in the evening rather than moto taxis. Keep valuables out of sight. Drink bottled water, as tap water is not safe to drink.
Travel cover: Rwanda screens arrivals at Kigali airport during the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Visitors who have been in Congo in the 30 days before arrival are refused entry. Travel within Rwanda continues as normal. We recommend travel insurance with medical cover and tell you straight away if official advice changes before you fly.
One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner checks your documents with you, sends your e tickets and vouchers before you fly and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If a flight moves or a day needs to change, you message one person instead of four companies.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
Affordable Kigali Package Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
Kenya Airways usually leaves JKIA at 07:30 and lands in Kigali at about 08:00 local time, as Kigali is one hour behind Nairobi. Flights home leave Kigali in the evening, with RwandAir usually at about 17:30 and Kenya Airways at about 20:00 on set days, landing at JKIA the same night. Schedules change from late October and late March, so your planner confirms the exact flights on your written quote before you pay. On the last Saturday of each month, Umuganda community work closes most services and empties the roads from 7am to 11am, so your planner moves transfers and tours around it. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is open daily from 9am to 5pm with last entry at 4pm. It closes on Christmas Day, New Year's Day and usually on the morning of 7 April. Gallery and market hours vary, so your planner confirms them for your dates. From 7 April Rwanda marks Kwibuka, the commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. During the first week the city is quiet, public music and entertainment pause and your planner adjusts the plan with care. April is usually the wettest month, with afternoon showers.
