Affordable Cairo Package from Nairobi | 4 Days 3 Nights
Barceló Cairo Pyramids
Four days in Cairo from Nairobi: a direct EgyptAir flight, your Egypt visa fee and document pack, three nights in a pyramid view room in Giza with breakfast, a private day at the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum with an Egyptologist, old Cairo and a Nile dinner cruise, in one price.
Affordable Cairo Package from Nairobi: four days and three nights with direct return economy flights between JKIA and Cairo on EgyptAir and checked baggage on your fare. Kenyans need a visa from the Egyptian Embassy in Nairobi before flying. Your visa fee is included and your planner prepares the document pack with you. You stay three nights with breakfast in a Superior Pyramids View room at Barceló Cairo Pyramids on Al Haram Street in Giza, with private airport transfers on arrival and departure.
Your days take in a private guided day with an Egyptologist at the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx and at the Grand Egyptian Museum, with your tickets. You also spend a private morning in old Cairo at the Citadel, the churches of Coptic Cairo and the Khan el Khalili bazaar, then end the day on a Nile dinner cruise. You need a yellow fever certificate. Your planner walks you through it. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below. One Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.
Every Kenyan grows up seeing the pyramids in a school book. Standing in front of them together is something else. This package gets you there in one direct flight and gives you three nights within sight of them, so the trip feels like Egypt from the first evening.
We base you in Giza on purpose. Barceló Cairo Pyramids sits on Al Haram Street, about 4 kilometres from the pyramids and the Sphinx. Your room looks towards them. The pool looks out over the pyramids too. The Grand Egyptian Museum is a short drive away, which keeps your big sightseeing day relaxed instead of a long fight with Cairo traffic.
The days are paced for two people, not a tour group. One day is for the pyramids and the museum with your own Egyptologist. One morning is for old Cairo, then the evening is on the Nile. Your flight home leaves around midnight, so the last day is a slow one.

About Package
More information about this package
Your hotel: Three nights at Barceló Cairo Pyramids in Giza or a comparable hotel confirmed at booking, in a Superior Pyramids View room of 32 square metres, with breakfast every morning.
At the hotel: Barceló Cairo Pyramids is a 4 star hotel with 236 rooms. It has a heated outdoor pool overlooking the pyramids with the Osiris pool bar, three restaurants called Nefetari, Sphinx and Horus and a panoramic terrace on the twelfth floor with views of the pyramids. There is a spa with a Turkish bath for guests over 18, at extra cost. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at noon.
Where you are: The hotel stands at 229 Al Haram Street, about 4 kilometres from the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. Cairo International Airport is about 28 kilometres away. The drive takes from about 45 minutes to over an hour, depending on traffic.
Direct flights: EgyptAir flies nonstop between JKIA and Cairo in about five hours, with checked baggage on your fare. You leave Nairobi early in the morning and land in Cairo mid morning. The flight home leaves Cairo around midnight and lands at JKIA early the next morning. From late October to late April, Cairo is one hour behind Nairobi.
The pyramids and the museum: Your Egyptologist guide and private car collect you after breakfast. You walk the Giza Plateau around the Great Pyramid, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure and the Sphinx, then drive to the Panorama Point viewpoint, where all three pyramids line up across the desert. In the afternoon you visit the Grand Egyptian Museum with its colossal statue of Ramses II and the treasures of Tutankhamun. Your plateau and museum tickets are included.
Old Cairo: A second private morning with a guide and car takes you to the Citadel of Salah el Din and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali inside it, the Hanging Church in Coptic Cairo and the Khan el Khalili bazaar. Entrance fees are included.
A Nile dinner cruise: Your evening ends with a two hour dinner cruise on the Nile with a buffet, a belly dance show and a tanoura show, with hotel pickup and drop off.
Before you fly: Kenyans need a visa from the Egyptian Embassy in Nairobi before travelling. Your visa fee is included and your planner prepares the document pack, but each of you attends the embassy in person. Each of you also needs a passport valid for at least six months from the day you land, with at least one blank page. You also each need a yellow fever certificate, with the vaccine given at least 10 days before you fly. Carry your return tickets, hotel vouchers and a bank card.
Full entry guide: Every entry rule, with the official links, is explained on our Egypt page at baecation.co.ke/egypt.
Respect at the mosque and churches: Cover shoulders and knees at the Mosque of Muhammad Ali and in the churches of Coptic Cairo. Women also cover their hair in the mosque. Take your shoes off before you step inside the mosque, follow your guide and keep your voices low.
Touts and tipping: Men offering camel rides, guides or free gifts approach visitors on the plateau. A polite no and staying with your own guide is enough. Tipping is part of daily life in Egypt, so carry small Egyptian pound notes for drivers, guides, porters and waiters.
Staying safe: Use your included transfers and tours, a hotel taxi or Uber in the evening. Drink bottled water and cover up from the sun even in winter. Do not photograph police, military sites or government buildings.
Travel cover: Cairo and Giza lie outside every area the UK government advises against visiting in Egypt. The wider region has seen strikes and attacks since July, so flights can change at short notice. We book changeable fares where the airline offers them, recommend travel insurance that covers flight disruption and medical costs and tell you straight away if official advice changes before you fly.
One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner prepares your visa document pack, checks your file before you go to the embassy, sends your e tickets and vouchers before you fly and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If a flight moves or a day needs to change, you message one person instead of four companies.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
Affordable Cairo Package Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
EgyptAir usually leaves JKIA at 05:55 and lands in Cairo mid morning. The flight home usually leaves Cairo around midnight and lands at JKIA early the next morning. EgyptAir does not fly every day in both directions, so your planner matches your dates to the days it flies and confirms the exact times on your written quote before you pay. From late October to late April, Cairo is one hour behind Nairobi. The Giza Plateau opens at 7am, with last entry at about 4pm. The Grand Egyptian Museum works with timed tickets, opens its galleries from 9am to 6pm and stays open until 9pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Mosque of Muhammad Ali closes to visitors during Friday midday prayers and the churches of Coptic Cairo hold services on Sunday mornings, so your planner swaps the days if needed. During Ramadan, expected from about 9 February to 10 March 2027, sites open later and close earlier. The plan follows the shorter hours.
Day 1: Nairobi to Cairo
Morning: Documents in One Folder Put your passports with your visa stickers, yellow fever cards, printed return e tickets, hotel vouchers and a bank card in one folder for your hand luggage. Afternoon: The Grand Egyptian Museum After lunch, drive a short way to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Stand under the colossal statue of Ramses II in the atrium, then walk through the galleries to the treasures of Tutankhamun, with your guide explaining what you see.
Evening: Your Evening Your driver brings you back to the hotel. Rest by the pool, then choose your own dinner, at the hotel or at one of the restaurants along Al Haram Street.
