Affordable Victoria Falls Honeymoon from Nairobi | 7 Days 6 Nights

Couple Packages
Honeymoons

A'Zambezi River Lodge and The Winchester Hotel or similar

A week as newlyweds in two very different places: three nights on the Zambezi at Victoria Falls with a guided walk, a sundowner cruise and a helicopter flight over the falls, then three nights on the Sea Point seafront in Cape Town with Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula, in one price.

Affordable Victoria Falls Honeymoon from Nairobi: seven days and six nights with economy flights on Kenya Airways and checked baggage on your fare. You fly from JKIA to Victoria Falls, on to Cape Town on the same airline and home to Nairobi. Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Zimbabwe or South Africa. You stay three nights with breakfast in a river facing room at A'Zambezi River Lodge, then three nights with breakfast at The Winchester Hotel on the seafront in Sea Point.

At the falls you walk the rainforest paths with a guide, cruise the Zambezi at sundown and fly over the falls by helicopter. In Cape Town you ride the cableway up Table Mountain and spend a private day down the Cape Peninsula to Cape Point and the penguins at Boulders Beach. You need a yellow fever certificate. Your planner walks you through it. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below. One Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.

Some honeymoons are one beach for a week. This one is two places that feel nothing alike. First the noise and spray of Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi drops into a basalt gorge along a front about 1.7 kilometres wide and a rainbow hangs in the spray on sunny mornings. Then the cool Atlantic air of Cape Town, with a mountain over the city and the sea at the end of the street.

Kenya Airways makes the route simple. The same morning flight from Nairobi lands at Victoria Falls and flies on to Cape Town, so after three nights at the falls you rejoin it for the short hop south. On your last day you fly home from Cape Town on the afternoon service to Nairobi. No extra connections and no backtracking.

The days are paced for newlyweds. At the falls you have one morning with a guide, one evening on the river, about 12 minutes in the air and a whole day to yourselves. In Cape Town you have one day on the mountain and the waterfront, one day on the peninsula and every dinner left for the two of you to choose.

About Package

More information about this package

Falls nights: Three nights at A'Zambezi River Lodge in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) or a comparable hotel confirmed at booking, in a Standard Double Room facing the river, with breakfast every morning. Every room has a balcony or patio. The lodge has an outdoor pool with a poolside bar, a spa and the Amulonga restaurant. Its free shuttle runs guests to town and the falls. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at 10am.

City nights: Three nights at The Winchester Hotel, formerly Winchester Mansions, on Beach Road in Sea Point (Cape Town) or a comparable hotel confirmed at booking, with breakfast every morning. It faces the promenade and the Atlantic, with an outdoor pool, a full service spa and a restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Flights on one airline: Kenya Airways flies you from JKIA to Victoria Falls in about three hours and fifteen minutes. Three days later you rejoin the same morning service for the flight of about three hours to Cape Town. You fly home on the afternoon service from Cape Town, which stops at Livingstone in Zambia and lands at JKIA the same night. Checked baggage is on your fare throughout.

The falls with a guide: Your guide walks you along the rainforest paths in the national park on the Zimbabwe side, from the Devil's Cataract past the Main Falls to the Rainbow Falls, with your park entry included.

The Flight of Angels: A helicopter flight of 12 to 13 minutes over the falls, the gorge and the river upstream. From March to May, when the spray hides much of the view from the ground, this is where you see the whole curtain of water.

On the river: A sundowner cruise on the wide, calm Zambezi above the falls, with local drinks and snacks on board. Hippos, crocodiles and elephants are often seen along the banks, though no sighting is promised.

Table Mountain and the peninsula: Your return cableway tickets up Table Mountain are included. On another day a private driver guide takes the two of you along Chapman's Peak Drive, to Cape Point and to the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, with your park entry fees included.

Before you fly: Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Zimbabwe or South Africa. Each of you needs a passport valid for at least six months from the day you land, with at least four blank pages, as Zimbabwe asks for three and South Africa for two. You also each need a yellow fever certificate, with the vaccine given at least 10 days before you fly. South Africa also asks every traveller to complete an online traveller declaration before arriving. Carry your onward and return tickets, both hotel vouchers, a bank card and some US dollars in small notes.

Full entry guide: Every entry rule, with the official links, is explained on our Victoria Falls page at baecation.co.ke/victoria-falls.

Malaria: Victoria Falls lies in the Zambezi valley, a malaria area all year. See a doctor or travel clinic about malaria tablets before you fly. Keep taking them in Cape Town as they advise. Cape Town itself has no malaria.

Money: US dollars are used for almost everything in Victoria Falls, but cash machines often run out, so bring small, clean notes. Change money only at banks or licensed bureaux. In Cape Town cards are accepted almost everywhere.

Wildlife in town: Elephants, buffalo and warthogs walk through Victoria Falls town after dark. Take a taxi in the evening rather than walking and keep your distance from any animal.

Staying safe: Victoria Falls is used to visitors and calm by day. Curio sellers near the falls and the bridge can be persistent. A polite no is enough. Do not photograph police, soldiers, border posts or government buildings in Zimbabwe. In Cape Town use hotel taxis or ride apps after dark and keep phones out of sight on the street.

Travel cover: Private clinics in Zimbabwe ask for payment, often in cash, before they treat anyone. We strongly recommend travel insurance with medical cover and evacuation. We tell you straight away if official advice changes before you fly.

One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner checks your passports and yellow fever cards with you, sends your e tickets and vouchers before you fly, lets both hotels know you are on honeymoon and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. Any honeymoon touches the hotels choose to offer are their gift and are not guaranteed.

Package Itinerary

The package itinerary is as follows

Affordable Victoria Falls Honeymoon Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi

Kenya Airways leaves JKIA at about 07:25 on Fridays and lands at Victoria Falls at about 09:40 local time, as Victoria Falls is one hour behind Nairobi. On Monday the same service leaves Victoria Falls at about 10:35 and lands in Cape Town at about 13:45. Cape Town keeps the same time as Victoria Falls. On Thursday you fly home on the service that leaves Cape Town at about 14:25, stops at Livingstone and lands at JKIA at about 22:15. Kenya Airways adjusts these routes and times with the seasons, so your planner confirms the exact flights on your written quote before you pay. The national park in front of the falls opens every day. The heaviest spray comes from March to May. Table Mountain's cableway closes in strong wind, so your planner keeps the two Cape Town days swappable. If the weather stops your cruise or grounds your helicopter, each moves to Day 3.

Day 1: Nairobi to Victoria Falls

Morning: Documents in One Folder Put your passports, yellow fever cards, printed e tickets for every flight, both hotel vouchers, a copy of your marriage certificate, a bank card and some small US dollar notes in one folder for your hand luggage. Your flight leaves JKIA early and lands at Victoria Falls mid morning. Hand your yellow fever cards over with your passports at the health desk, then meet the lodge driver for the drive of about 30 minutes to the river.

Afternoon: On the Riverbank Leave your bags and have lunch at the lodge. Your room is ready from 2pm. Check in, open the balcony doors to the river and spend the afternoon by the pool.

Evening: Sundowner on the Zambezi Your boat collects you for a sundowner cruise on the river above the falls. Drift past the islands with a cold drink on your first evening as a married couple abroad.

Overnight: A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar Meals: Drinks and snacks on the cruise

Day 2: The Smoke That Thunders

Morning: The Rainforest Paths After breakfast, the shuttle takes you to the falls, where your guide meets you at the entrance. Walk the rainforest paths from the Devil's Cataract to the Main Falls and on towards the Rainbow Falls as the spray drifts over you.

Afternoon: The Flight of Angels Your driver collects you for the helipad. Lift off over the river, circle the falls and the zigzag gorges below them and follow the Zambezi upstream past the islands.

Evening: Your Evening Take a taxi to dinner in town or eat at the lodge as the river goes quiet. Elephants cross the roads after dark, so ride rather than walk.

Overnight: A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 3: A Day for the Two of You

Morning: Nowhere to Be Sleep in and take a slow breakfast facing the river. If the weather moved your helicopter flight, this morning is its second chance. If you added the Chobe day trip or the Zambian side from the list below, today is the day.

Afternoon: Pool or Market Rest by the pool or take the shuttle into town for the craft market. Bargain with a smile and pay in small notes.

Evening: The Last Falls Night This evening is held for your cruise if the weather moved it. If not, dress up a little and ask your planner for a table in town.

Overnight: A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 4: Victoria Falls to Cape Town

Morning: Onward to the Sea Have an early breakfast and check out. The lodge driver takes you to Victoria Falls Airport for your late morning flight to Cape Town.

Afternoon: Into Sea Point Land in Cape Town in the early afternoon, show your passports and yellow fever cards and meet your driver for the drive of about 25 minutes to Sea Point. Check in and take a moment by the pool.

Evening: The Promenade Walk the Sea Point promenade along the Atlantic, then choose a spot for dinner by the sea.

Overnight: The Winchester Hotel, Sea Point or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 5: Table Mountain and the Waterfront

Morning: Up the Mountain After breakfast, take a short taxi ride to the lower cableway station and ride up Table Mountain. Walk the paths across the top for views over the city, Lion's Head, Robben Island and the Atlantic.

Afternoon: The V&A Waterfront Head down to the V&A Waterfront for lunch by the harbour and a slow wander around the quays and the craft stalls at the Watershed.

Evening: Your Evening Dinner is yours to choose, in Sea Point or at the Waterfront.

Overnight: The Winchester Hotel, Sea Point or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 6: The Cape Peninsula

Morning: Chapman's Peak After breakfast, your private driver guide collects you for a full day down the peninsula. Drive past Clifton and Camps Bay to Hout Bay, then along Chapman's Peak Drive, a road cut into the cliffs above the sea.

Afternoon: Cape Point and the Penguins Continue into the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park for Cape Point and its lighthouse, then stop at Boulders Beach in Simon's Town, where African penguins live on the sand between the boulders.

Evening: The Last Night Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and take your time over a last dinner together in Cape Town.

Overnight: The Winchester Hotel, Sea Point or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 7: Cape Town to Nairobi

Morning: A Slow Last Morning Take your time over breakfast and a last walk along the promenade, then check out.

Afternoon: To the Airport Your driver takes you to Cape Town airport for your afternoon flight, which stops briefly at Livingstone on the way north.

Evening: Landing at JKIA Touch down in Nairobi late in the evening, home as a married couple.
