Amboseli Porini Camp - Selenkay Conservancy Amboseli

Luxury Private Hotels & Lodges

Selenkay Conservancy lies 16 kilometres north of Amboseli National Park, and it belongs, in every meaningful sense, only to Porini. No other vehicles. No tourist minibuses. No competing camps. Just ten eco-safari tents, a maximum of twenty guests at any one time, and 700 acres of untouched wilderness per tent. When Porini's open-sided 4×4 follows elephant tracks off-road at midnight, there is no one else out there.

This is what makes Amboseli Porini Camp one of Kenya's most awarded safari experiences. The Selenkay Conservancy won the World's Leading Conservation Programme in 2025. Porini itself is Gold Eco-Rated by Ecotourism Kenya. And the camp's twenty-five-year partnership with the Maasai landowners of Selenkay has created one of Africa's most successful community-based conservation models — where wildlife protection and local livelihoods are the same thing, not a compromise between them.

For couples, this camp offers something no luxury lodge can replicate. Your tent is solar-powered, with an en-suite shower and flush toilet, a king bed, and a private veranda where Mount Kilimanjaro appears at dawn if the clouds allow. Every meal is served under an acacia tree or in the mess tent with the savannah around you. Every drink — house wine, vodka, gin and tonic, beer, soft drinks — is included. Every activity — day and night game drives in the conservancy, guided Maasai bush walks, sundowners on an observation platform above the waterhole, a full-day picnic safari into Amboseli National Park — is built into your stay.

And for honeymoons specifically: the bride stays at 50% off when booking 4 or more nights within 12 months of the wedding. Proof of wedding required. This is the most generous honeymoon offer in Kenya's luxury safari market — and it is available exclusively at Porini Camps.

About Package

More information about this package

Porini Amboseli Camp — the only camp in Selenkay Conservancy: Ten solar-powered eco-tents across a private 15,000-acre conservancy, with no other tourist vehicles sharing your routes. Every open-sided 4×4 safari is exclusive to camp guests — off-road, unhurried, and free from the minibus congestion inside the national park.

King-bed tents with private veranda and en-suite facilities: Each tent has a king-size bed, solar-powered lighting, and a private veranda facing the plains, with an en-suite bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet — built from natural materials that blend seamlessly into the conservancy.

Fully inclusive — including drinks: All meals are prepared from fresh local ingredients and served under acacia trees. House wines, beer, vodka, gin and tonic, soft drinks, and mineral water are included throughout — a level of generosity rarely found at this price point in Kenya.

Night drives and off-road access: Private land means activities completely prohibited inside Amboseli National Park — night game drives for serval cats, aardvarks, and bat-eared foxes, guided off-road drives, and escorted bush walks with Maasai warriors who have tracked this conservancy for generations.

World's Leading Conservation Programme 2025: The Selenkay Conservancy is internationally recognised for its community-based model — Maasai landowners earn direct income from tourism, creating a powerful incentive to protect wildlife over farming. Your stay directly funds this programme.

50% honeymoon discount for the bride: Brides receive 50% off accommodation when staying four or more nights within twelve months of their wedding. Proof of wedding required. One of the most generous honeymoon offers in Kenya's luxury safari market.

Sundowner on the observation platform overlooking the camp waterhole as elephants come to drink.
Full board dinner under the acacia trees.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Early morning game drive in Selenkay Conservancy — dawn light over the plains with Kilimanjaro on the horizon.
Full breakfast at camp.
Full-day safari into Amboseli National Park in the open-sided 4×4 — the elephant herds here are among Africa's largest, with some of the biggest tuskers recorded anywhere on the continent. Lions, cheetahs, hippos in the swamps, over 400 bird species.
Picnic lunch in the park.
Return to camp in late afternoon.
Sundowner followed by night game drive — nocturnal Selenkay reveals serval cats, aardvarks, bat-eared foxes, caracals, and African wild cats that are invisible during the day.
