Kicheche Laikipia Camp – Eco-Luxury Safari, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Night Drives & Mountain Kenya Views | 4 Days 3 Nights
Kicheche Laikipia Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Luxury Private Hotels & Lodges
At 6,000 feet above sea level, the air at Kicheche Laikipia is different. Fresher. Colder after dark. The kind of air that makes a campfire not just pleasant but necessary. And that makes the stars above Ol Pejeta Conservancy more vivid than almost anywhere else you will ever sleep.
Kicheche Laikipia is an eco-award-winning luxury tented camp. One of only six of its kind operating inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy — nestled in the shadows of Mount Kenya at the foot of an indigenous forest overlooking a large waterhole. It is part of the Kicheche Collection, four small camps across Kenya's finest wildlife areas, each with the same philosophy: expert Silver-rated guides, no more than twelve guests at any time, and an experience that prioritises depth of encounter over volume of sightings.
6 canvas tents, elegantly furnished with Persian rugs, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas facing the waterhole. From your chair on that veranda, you might watch a herd of elephants come to drink within twenty metres of where you are sitting. Buffalo move through the indigenous forest behind camp. At night, with the campfire lit and the Milky Way overhead, your guide tells you the stories of the land while the sounds of the conservancy settle in around you.
Uniquely among Kicheche's four camps, Laikipia offers canoeing on the conservancy dam and mountain biking through the wilderness — adding active dimensions to the traditional game drive and bush walk programme. And for couples staying within twelve months of their wedding, Kicheche Valley's honeymoon offer. 50% off accommodation for the bride, plus a complimentary half-hour massage — is available when combining Laikipia with a Mara stay on the same booking.
Every night's stay contributes $5 directly to the Ol Pejeta Community Trust. Every game drive explores territory where the world's last two northern white rhinos live. And every morning at Kicheche begins in a way that makes the world feel larger and quieter and more worth protecting than it did the day before.

About Package
More information about this package
6 tents overlooking a waterhole — in-camp game viewing as standard: Each of Kicheche Laikipia's six canvas tents has a private veranda directly facing the conservancy dam, where elephant herds, buffalo, and plains game congregate to drink throughout the day. The camp is designed so that wildlife encounters begin before you even leave your chair — particularly spectacular during the dry season when animals concentrate around the water.
Silver-rated guides and 6,000ft highland altitude: Kicheche's guides hold Silver-rated KPSGA certification — Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association's second-highest level — and are widely regarded among the finest naturalists operating in Ol Pejeta. At 6,000 feet above sea level, the camp runs cooler than lowland Laikipia, making mornings and evenings genuinely fresh — and the evening campfire an essential ritual rather than an optional extra.
Canoeing and mountain biking — unique to Kicheche Laikipia: Of Kicheche's four camps, only Laikipia offers canoeing on the conservancy dam and mountain biking through the wilderness zone. Both are included in the nightly rate and provide a completely different perspective on Ol Pejeta's landscape and wildlife — silent, unhurried, and deeply intimate.
Night drives, bush walks, and bloodhound anti-poaching experience: The conservancy's private land status permits night game drives — unavailable inside national parks — with Kicheche's expert guides. Escorted bush walks explore the same terrain on foot. And Ol Pejeta's celebrated K9 anti-poaching unit, using trained bloodhounds for daily patrol work, offers a tracking demonstration bookable through the camp.
The world's last two northern white rhinos — 30 minutes from camp: Kicheche Laikipia's position inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy gives guests direct access to the Endangered Species Enclosure where Najin and Fatu — the world's last two northern white rhinos — live under 24-hour protection. The visit ($75 PP extra) includes a dedicated keeper who tells the full story of the subspecies' decline and the extraordinary science attempting to reverse it.
$5 per night community trust contribution — conservation with every stay: Every night at Kicheche Laikipia contributes $5 directly to the Ol Pejeta Community Trust, supporting schools, healthcare, and income programmes for communities neighbouring the conservancy. The camp is eco-award-winning, uses locally sourced organic toiletries, and operates on the principle that the most meaningful luxury is the kind that leaves the world better than it found it.
