This budget package takes you from Nairobi to the coast aboard the Madaraka Express, trading a rushed hour in the air for a relaxed five to six hour journey through Tsavo's open savannah — often with elephant and giraffe sightings right from your window. It's a gentler, more scenic start to married life than an airport queue, and it costs a fraction of the equivalent flight.
From there, it's straight onto Diani's white sand. Staying at a budget beachfront guesthouse doesn't mean trading away the location that makes Diani one of Africa's best-loved honeymoon destinations — you're still steps from the same warm lagoon, the same sunsets, the same 17 kilometres of coastline, just without the resort-scale price tag.
This package is also intentionally flexible. Rather than bundling in a fixed romantic-dinner package, we leave that choice with you — a beach dinner, a couples massage, a water sport, or simply time together with nothing planned. More information about this package
SGR from Nairobi to Mombasa (Miritini). A 5–6 hour scenic rail journey through Tsavo, Economy class as standard with a First Class upgrade available.
Shared road transfer, Miritini to Diani. Roughly 1 to 1.5 hours by shared vehicle, at approximately KES 3,000 per person.
Half-board accommodation, 2 nights. Breakfast and dinner included, with lunch left open to explore Diani's local restaurant scene.
Optional water sports and activities. Jet Skiing, snorkelling, glass-bottom boat tours, and scuba diving are all bookable locally, added only if you want them.
Optional couples massage. A relaxed, affordable way to mark the occasion without committing to a full romantic-dinner setup.

The package itinerary is as follows

Day 1 — Nairobi to Diani
Morning SGR departure from Nairobi Terminus (Syokimau), arriving Mombasa Terminus (Miritini) around 2:00 PM. Shared transfer to your Diani guesthouse (approx. 1–1.5 hrs). Check-in, evening free.
Day 2 — Beach Day, Your Way
Full day free on the beach. Optional add-ons available: Jet Skiing, snorkelling trip, glass-bottom boat tour, scuba diving taster, or a couples massage. Evening: dinner at the guesthouse or a local restaurant of your choice.
