This Affordable Anniversary Amboseli Safari takes the two of you south from Nairobi for three days of elephants, open plains and early light over Kilimanjaro.
Another year together deserves more than a dinner booking. Amboseli is where researchers have followed the same elephant families by name since 1972, and on clear mornings Kilimanjaro rises behind them from across the border in Tanzania. The mountain often hides in cloud by midday, so we plan your drives around the early light, when it is most likely to appear.
You stay two nights at Sentrim Amboseli, a tented camp on the border of the park, about 3 km from Kimana Gate. Your own driver guide and a private safari van with a pop up roof stay with you from pickup to drop off, so every drive runs on your time, not a group's.
The anniversary moment comes on day two at Observation Hill. Before you travel, you send us one photograph from the start of your story. Your guide hands it back to you, printed, on top of the hill, with the swamps and their elephant families spread out below. It is a quiet moment, and it belongs to the two of you.

Your Camp: Sentrim Amboseli has 60 tents spread across grounds that border the national park, about 3 km from Kimana Gate. Being this close means you are through the gate at first light, when Amboseli is at its best.
Your Tent: Each tent has an en suite bathroom with hot showers, a private veranda and a tea and coffee tray. When the cloud lifts, the view from camp runs towards Kilimanjaro.
Full Board: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the camp restaurant, so between drives the only decision is whether to rest or swim.
The Pool: Midday in Amboseli is hot and the animals rest too. The camp's outdoor pool fills those hours before the afternoon drive.
Maasai Inspired Design: The camp's décor and craft pieces draw on the Maasai culture of the land around the park, giving the lodge a sense of place rather than a generic safari look.
Your Own Vehicle: A private Toyota Hiace with a pop up roof and your own driver guide for all three days. No shared seats and no group timetable.
Your Anniversary Setup: Your tent is prepared for the occasion on the first night, and your printed photograph waits for the moment on Observation Hill.
Park Fees Covered: Three daily park tickets for both of you are already in the price.

Day 1: The Road South
Morning: Southbound to Kilimanjaro Country We pick you up at 6:30am from your home or hotel in Nairobi. The road runs down Mombasa Road to Emali, then south on tarmac through Kimana as the land turns drier and wider. On a clear day, Kilimanjaro shows itself ahead long before you reach camp.
Afternoon: First Look at the Swamps Check in at Sentrim Amboseli and settle over lunch. Then it is through Kimana Gate for your first drive, timed for the hours when elephant families start walking back from the swamps.
Evening: The Anniversary Tent Back at camp, your tent has been set up for the occasion. Dinner at the restaurant, then the night sounds of the bush from your veranda.
Day 2: The Day of the Families
Morning: Kilimanjaro's Hour You are at the gate as it opens, when the mountain is most likely to be clear and the light is soft. Elephants head for the water, and lion and hyena are often still moving on the plains. Back to camp for a late breakfast.
Afternoon: Observation Hill After lunch and time at the pool, your guide drives you to Observation Hill, one of the few places in the park where you can step out of the vehicle. At the top, with the swamps below, you receive the photograph you sent us, printed and waiting. Take as long as you like before the drive back.
Evening: Dinner for Two A slow dinner at camp to close the day, with the photograph on the table between you.
Day 3: One Last Look
Morning: Sunrise Drive A final early drive for one more chance at Kilimanjaro in clear light, then back to camp for breakfast and checkout.
Afternoon: The Road Home The drive north through Kimana and Emali, with a stop along the way for lunch at your own cost.
Evening: Home Again Drop off at your home or hotel in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on traffic.
