Affordable Bangkok Couple Getaway from Nairobi | 6 Days 5 Nights
Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel or similar
Six days in Bangkok for two, with a direct Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi, your Thai e Visa, five nights in a river view room with a rooftop infinity pool, a five course dinner cruise on a restored rice barge, the glass floor of the Mahanakhon SkyWalk and the great temples of the old city in one price.
Affordable Bangkok Couple Getaway from Nairobi: six days and five nights with direct return economy flights on Kenya Airways from JKIA, checked baggage and your Thai e Visa fee all taken care of. You stay five nights with breakfast in a river view room at Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, with private airport transfers on arrival and departure. Your days take in a guided morning at the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, a day built around the two of you with the Mahanakhon SkyWalk and a Manohra dinner cruise, the Chatuchak Weekend Market and an early morning at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
Celebrating something? Turn the trip into an anniversary, a birthday, a proposal or a surprise with one of the occasion upgrades below. Kenyan passport holders need a Thai e Visa, a yellow fever certificate and the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card, and your planner walks you through all three. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below, and one Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.
Some trips are about seeing a city. This one is about the two of you having time together in one. You get the same direct flights, e Visa and temples as our shorter Bangkok package, plus an extra night, a hotel with a rooftop pool above the river and a day built entirely around you: the city from a glass floor more than 300 metres up in the afternoon, then dinner on the Chao Phraya in a teak rice barge as the temples light up.
We base you at Avani+ Riverside on purpose. Every room looks over the river, the infinity pool sits on the roof, and the free shuttle boat runs to Saphan Taksin, where the Skytrain and the river boats take you anywhere you want to go. The Manohra dinner cruise leaves from the pier next door, so on your special evening you simply walk down to the water.
This is also the package to build an occasion on. Anniversaries, birthdays, proposals and surprises all start from the same getaway, and the upgrades below add the moment each one needs. If one of you is planning in secret, your planner keeps every detail between you and them until the right time.

About Package
More information about this package
Your hotel: Five nights at Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, or a comparable hotel confirmed at booking, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Every room and suite has a river view, and you stay in a River View Room of about 30 square metres with a buffet breakfast every morning.
The rooftop: An infinity pool sits on the roof above the river, and SEEN Restaurant and Bar on the 26th and 27th floors serves dinner and drinks with the city spread out below.
The shuttle boat: A free shuttle boat runs from the hotel to Sathorn Pier at Saphan Taksin every day from 8am to 11:15pm, connecting you to the Skytrain and the Chao Phraya Express boats.
Direct flights: Kenya Airways flies nonstop between JKIA and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi in about nine and a half hours on a Boeing 787. This getaway follows the Wednesday night departure, which lands on Thursday afternoon, and the flight home that leaves Bangkok at 1am on Wednesday morning.
The temples: A guided morning takes you through the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, home of the Emerald Buddha, then Wat Pho and its reclining Buddha, about 46 metres long, before the short ferry across to Wat Arun. Your entrance tickets for all three are included.
A day for two: Day three is built around you as a couple. A slow morning by the pool, the Mahanakhon SkyWalk in the late afternoon, where you step out onto a glass floor high above Silom with a digital photo of the two of you, then the Manohra dinner cruise: a five course Thai dinner on a restored teak rice barge, sailing past the Grand Palace and Wat Arun lit up at night.
The weekend market and the floating market: Sunday is for the Chatuchak Weekend Market, thousands of stalls of clothes, ceramics and street food. On Monday an early pickup takes you to Damnoen Saduak, where vendors sell fruit and noodles from boats, with a long tail boat ride into the market.
Your Thai e Visa: Kenyan passport holders need a visa for Thailand. You apply online at the official Thai e Visa website, and the KES 5,000 single entry tourist visa fee is included in your price. The embassy in Nairobi asks each of you for proof of employment or business ownership, a bank statement stamped by your bank showing at least 20,000 baht each over the past three months, your return flight booking and your hotel booking. It takes at least 15 working days, so apply at least one month before you fly but not more than three months before. Approval rests with the Thai authorities alone.
Yellow fever and arrival card: Thailand requires a yellow fever certificate from travellers arriving from Kenya, checked at the health counter before immigration. Every visitor also completes the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within the three days before landing. Your planner checks both with you before you fly.
Dress for the temples: Shoulders and knees must be covered at the Grand Palace and the temples, with no sleeveless tops, shorts or short skirts, and shoes come off inside the halls.
Travel cover: Bangkok is busy, open and welcoming to visitors. Late in the rainy season low lying streets can flood after heavy rain, so we watch the official advice and tell you straight away if it changes before you fly. We strongly recommend travel insurance with medical cover, as private hospitals in Bangkok are excellent but expensive.
Built for occasions: Anniversary, birthday, proposal and surprise upgrades sit on top of this getaway, so you choose the moment and we arrange it. Secret planning is handled in confidence with whichever partner books.
One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner prepares your e Visa documents with you, sends your e tickets and vouchers before you fly and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If something shifts on the ground, you message one person instead of four companies.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
Affordable Bangkok Couple Getaway Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
Kenya Airways flies direct from JKIA on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 23:59 and lands in Bangkok at 13:30 the next afternoon. The flight home leaves Bangkok at 01:00 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings and lands at JKIA at 06:05. This plan follows the Wednesday departure. On other dates we fly you via Dubai or change the length of the stay, and the schedule can change from late March, so your planner confirms the exact flights on your written quote before you pay. The Grand Palace opens daily from 8:30am to 3:30pm but can close at short notice for royal ceremonies, the Chatuchak Weekend Market opens only on Saturdays and Sundays, the Manohra cruise sails on set evenings and the Mahanakhon SkyWalk sunset entry runs from 4pm to 7pm, so your planner sets the days around them.
Day 1: Nairobi to Bangkok

Afternoon: Wat Arun Cross the river by ferry to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, its spire covered in porcelain flowers. Head back to the hotel for a swim and a rest.
