This getaway is built around Nanyuki, an easygoing highland town that works as the gateway to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of the best wildlife experiences in Kenya and one that doesn't require booking a private camp to enjoy properly.
A full day inside the conservancy gives you rhinos, chimpanzees, and open savanna game viewing, with the option to add a Mount Kenya hike if you want the trip to have a more active edge. It's a genuinely different pace from Nairobi, a manageable three to four hours by road, without needing a week off or a luxury budget to justify it.

Two nights at Falcon Heights Hotel, Nanyuki, or similar. A well reviewed hotel in Nanyuki town with a pool, small gym, and breakfast included.
A full day inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Entry includes the northern white rhino sanctuary, home to Najin and Fatu, and the chimpanzee sanctuary, alongside resident Big Five game.
Optional Mount Kenya hiking add-ons. The Chogoria Route day trip, the Sirimon and Shipton route, and the Mackinders Hiking Safari are all real, separately priced options for a more active extension.
Private return transfer via Bamm Tours. Road only for this route, roughly 195 km from Nairobi via Thika and Karatina on the A2, about three to four hours each way.
Flight option available on request. Safarilink and AirKenya both fly Wilson to Nanyuki in around 40 minutes, worth considering if you'd rather spend the extra travel time in Laikipia itself.
Optional extension into the conservancy overnight. A "Sleep in the Conservancy" night can be added on request for couples who want to stretch the getaway a little further.

Day 1
8:00 AM — Pickup from your Nairobi address or hotel, departure north on the A2.
12:00 PM — Arrival in Nanyuki, check in to Falcon Heights.
1:00 PM to 5:00 PM — Free time: pool, courtyard, or a walk around town.
7:00 PM — Dinner in Nanyuki town.
Day 2
7:00 AM — Breakfast, then the drive to Ol Pejeta's gate.
8:00 AM to 12:00 PM — Rhino sanctuary visit and game drive.
1:00 PM — Lunch on request, then the chimpanzee sanctuary in the afternoon.
