This getaway is built around that idea, a night at Outspan Hotel in Nyeri town to properly slow down, followed by a night at Treetops, the tree hotel built over its own floodlit waterhole, where the evening's entertainment is whatever wildlife wanders in to drink after dark.
It's a manageable distance from Nairobi, about three hours on the road, and it delivers a genuinely different pace and scenery without needing a week off work to justify it.

More information about this package
One night at Outspan Hotel, or similar. A historic property in Nyeri town with gardens and Mount Kenya views on a clear morning, an easy first stop to unwind after the drive.
One night at Treetops, or similar. Reached only by a mandatory transfer in the lodge's own vehicle from Outspan, fixed early-afternoon departure, no self-driving permitted.
Floodlit waterhole viewing included. Treetops looks directly onto its own waterhole and salt lick, lit through the night, with a buzzer system if larger game come down to drink.
Private return transfer via Bamm Tours. Road only, about 150 km from Nairobi via Karatina on the A2, roughly two and a half to three hours each way.
Tea country scenery built into the drive. The A2 climbs steadily through tea estates once you're past Karatina, so even the transport feels like part of the trip rather than dead time.
Optional add-ons for a longer stay. Hiking around Kihuri Riverline or Njigari Forest, a tea plantation tour, or rhino tracking at Solio are all bookable extensions if you want to stretch the getaway out.

Day 1
8:00 AM — Pickup from your Nairobi address or hotel, departure north on the A2.
10:30 AM — Arrival at Outspan Hotel, check in.
11:00 AM to 3:00 PM — Free time: garden walks, optional hiking tours (Kihuri Riverline, Njigari Forest) nearby.
7:00 PM — Dinner at Outspan.
Day 2
8:30 AM — Breakfast, then transfer up to Treetops in the lodge's own vehicle.
11:00 AM — Arrival and check in at Treetops.
12:00 PM to 6:00 PM — Free time on the viewing decks and around the lodge.
7:00 PM — Dinner at the lodge, followed by evening waterhole viewing after dark.
Day 3
