Affordable Marrakech Couple Getaway from Nairobi | 7 Days 5 Nights

Getaways

Riad Dar Anika and Inara Camp or similar

Four nights in a riad with a spa in the Marrakech medina and one night in a tented camp in the Agafay desert with the Atlas on the horizon, with your Qatar Airways flights, your Morocco visa fee and travel insurance, a licensed guide, the Majorelle Garden and a hammam and massage for two, in one price.

Affordable Marrakech Couple Getaway from Nairobi: seven days and five nights with return economy flights from JKIA on Qatar Airways through Doha and checked baggage on your fare. Kenyans need a visa from the Embassy of Morocco in Nairobi before flying. Your visa fee and the travel insurance the embassy asks for are included. Your planner prepares the document pack with you. You stay four nights with breakfast at Riad Dar Anika in the medina, then one night with dinner and breakfast at Inara Camp in the Agafay desert, with every transfer private.

Your days take in a private morning in the medina with a licensed guide at the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the old Mellah and the souks, the Majorelle Garden with the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and an afternoon of hammam and massage for the two of you. One full day is kept free for your occasion. Your last night is spent in the stony hills of Agafay, about an hour from the city. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below. One Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.

This is a getaway in two moods. The first four nights are in the medina, where the lanes are loud, the souks never close their shutters for long and the evenings start in Jemaa el Fna. The last night is out in the Agafay desert, where the noise stops, the hills turn from grey to gold and the snow on the Atlas sits on the horizon.

We chose Riad Dar Anika for the city part on purpose. It is a small riad with 12 rooms, an indoor pool, a roof terrace and its own spa, close enough to walk to the square and quiet enough to switch off. In December and January, when Marrakech evenings are cold, an indoor pool and a hammam under the same roof count for more than a big garden.

The desert night comes last so the trip ends slowly. You leave the riad after a lazy morning, spend the afternoon by the pool at Inara Camp, eat dinner under the stars and wake up to the hills. Your tent is about 50 minutes from the airport, so your last day is easy. One day in the middle is kept free for whatever you are celebrating, with the occasion extras below.

About Package

More information about this package

Four nights in the medina: Your first four nights are at Riad Dar Anika in the Marrakech medina or a comparable riad confirmed at booking, in a Superior Double Room of about 17 square metres, with breakfast every morning.

At the riad: Riad Dar Anika has 12 rooms, an indoor pool, a hot tub, a roof terrace and a spa with a hammam and a steam room, where treatments are booked ahead. Breakfast is served from 8am to 11am. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at noon. The riad has no lift, so pack in soft bags you can carry up the stairs.

Where you are: The riad stands at 112 Riad Zitoun Kedim, about eight minutes on foot from Jemaa el Fna. Marrakech Menara Airport is about 15 minutes away by car. Cars cannot drive through most of the medina lanes, so your driver stops at the nearest road and a porter wheels your bags to the door.

One night in Agafay: Your last night is at Inara Camp in the Agafay desert or a comparable camp confirmed at booking, in a Discovery tent with a king size bed, your own bathroom with a hot shower and air conditioning that also heats. Dinner and breakfast are included. The camp has a pool, a restaurant open all day and a bar. In winter a wood burner warms the tents.

The Agafay desert: Agafay is a stony desert of bare rolling hills, not sand dunes, about 45 minutes to an hour south west of Marrakech. On clear days the snow capped peaks of the High Atlas line the horizon. Days are warm and sunny most of the year. Nights are cold from December to February.

Your flights: Qatar Airways flies from JKIA to Doha in about five hours. The onward flight stops in Casablanca and lands in Marrakech in the late afternoon. On some dates the short last hop from Casablanca is on Royal Air Maroc, on the same ticket. The journey takes about 17 hours each way. Your checked baggage is on your fare. Marrakech is three hours behind Nairobi.

The medina with a licensed guide: Your guide collects you from the riad after breakfast for a private half day: the painted courtyards of the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Bab Agnaou gate, the old Jewish quarter of the Mellah and the souks. Your entrance tickets are included.

The Majorelle Garden: The blue garden in Gueliz, once the home of the painter Jacques Majorelle and later of Yves Saint Laurent, with the Yves Saint Laurent Museum beside it. Tickets are timed and sold online only. Your planner books both for you.

Hammam and massage for two: An afternoon at a spa in the medina with private rooms for couples: warm steam, a scrub with black olive soap, then a massage each with argan oil.

Before you fly: Kenyans need a visa from the Embassy of Morocco in Nairobi before travelling. Your visa fee and travel insurance are included and your planner prepares the document pack, but each of you attends the embassy in person. Kenyans who already hold a valid visa from the United States, the United Kingdom or a Schengen country may qualify for Morocco's e visa instead. Your planner checks whether you qualify. Each of you needs a passport valid for at least six months from the day you land, with a blank page. Carry your return tickets, riad and camp vouchers, insurance certificate and a bank card.

Full entry guide: Every entry rule, with the official links, is explained on our Marrakech page at baecation.co.ke/marrakech.

Respect in the medina: Cover shoulders and knees in the medina and the old sites. Keep kisses and cuddles for private moments. Most mosques in Morocco, the Koutoubia included, are open to Muslims only, so visitors admire them from outside. Ask before you photograph people.

Guides, touts and tipping: Men may offer to show you the way or tell you a site is closed. A polite no is enough. Only use guides with an official badge. Performers and anyone who poses for a photo in Jemaa el Fna expect a tip. In the souks, prices are agreed by bargaining, so start well below the first price and smile. Carry small notes for porters, waiters, guides and camp staff.

Staying safe: Keep your phone and bag close in the crowds of the square and the souks. Agree a taxi fare before you get in or ask for the meter. Drink bottled water. Do not photograph police, military sites or government buildings. Alcohol is served only in licensed hotels, bars, restaurants and camps. Quad bikes and camel rides at the camps are extras run by other operators, so wear a helmet on a quad and ask your planner which ones the camp trusts.

Travel cover: Your connection is in Doha. The wider Gulf region has seen strikes and attacks since July and airspace can close at short notice. We book changeable fares where the airline offers them and tell you straight away if official advice changes before you fly. The travel insurance in your price is the medical cover the embassy asks for. Ask your planner to add cover for flight disruption.

One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner prepares your visa document pack, checks your file before you go to the embassy, sends your e tickets, insurance and vouchers before you fly, sets up any occasion you add and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If a flight moves or a day needs to change, you message one person instead of four companies.

Package Itinerary

The package itinerary is as follows

Affordable Marrakech Couple Getaway Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi

Qatar Airways usually leaves JKIA just after midnight, connects in Doha and lands in Marrakech in the late afternoon after a stop in Casablanca. On some dates the last hop from Casablanca is on Royal Air Maroc, which can mean a later arrival. The flight home leaves Marrakech in the late afternoon, connects in Doha early the next morning and lands at JKIA in the early afternoon. Your planner confirms the exact flights on your written quote before you pay. Marrakech is three hours behind Nairobi. The Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs open daily from 9am to 5pm. The Majorelle Garden opens daily from about 8am to 5pm with timed tickets bought online. The Yves Saint Laurent Museum keeps its own hours, so your planner books it and swaps the days if needed. Nights in Agafay are cold from December to February. On cold or windy evenings dinner moves inside. During Ramadan, expected from about 9 February to 9 March 2027, sites open later and close earlier. Many cafés in the medina close during the day. The plan follows the shorter hours.

Day 1: Nairobi to Marrakech

Morning: Documents in One Folder Reach JKIA late the evening before, as your flight leaves just after midnight. Put your passports with your visa stickers, your insurance certificate, printed return e tickets, riad and camp vouchers and a bank card in one folder for your hand luggage. Change planes in Doha, then settle in for the long flight west.

Afternoon: Into the Medina After a short stop in Casablanca, you land in Marrakech in the late afternoon. Clear immigration, change some money at the airport and meet your driver. A porter wheels your bags through the lanes to the riad. Check in and take your first mint tea in the courtyard.

Evening: Jemaa el Fna Walk to Jemaa el Fna as the food stalls light their grills. Share a plate of grilled meat, harira soup and fresh orange juice, then watch the musicians and storytellers before an early night.

Overnight: Riad Dar Anika or similar Meals: None included

Day 2: The Medina with Your Guide

Morning: Palaces and Tombs Your licensed guide collects you after breakfast. Walk through the painted rooms and courtyards of the Bahia Palace, pass the carved Bab Agnaou gate and visit the Saadian Tombs, resting place of the Saadian sultans, then wander the old Mellah.

Afternoon: The Souks Your guide ends the tour in the souks, where each lane has its own trade: leather, lamps, spices, carpets and brass. After lunch, head back to the riad for the indoor pool.

Evening: The Roof Terrace Climb to the roof terrace as the call to prayer drifts over the rooftops. Choose your own dinner, at one of the rooftop restaurants nearby or back at the square.

Overnight: Riad Dar Anika or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 3: The Blue Garden and the Hammam

Morning: The Majorelle Garden Take a short taxi ride to Gueliz for your timed entry to the Majorelle Garden. Walk among cactus, bamboo and palms around the cobalt blue villa, then step next door into the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.

Afternoon: Hammam and Massage for Two After lunch, head back to the medina for your afternoon together at the spa: warm steam, a black soap scrub and a massage each with argan oil. Take your time over tea afterwards.

Evening: Your Evening Rest at the riad, then choose your own dinner, from a tagine on a rooftop to the grills of the square.

Overnight: Riad Dar Anika or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 4: A Day for the Two of You

Morning: Nowhere to Be Sleep in and take a slow breakfast. If you added the balloon flight for your anniversary, this is your sunrise in the air, with the Atlas ahead of you.

Afternoon: Your Choice Spend the afternoon by the indoor pool, get lost in the souks with a shopping list or add the Atlas Mountains day from the list below.

Evening: Your Occasion Dress up for the evening you are celebrating. Your planner books a rooftop table and sets up any surprise you have chosen.

Overnight: Riad Dar Anika or similar Meals: Breakfast

Day 5: Into the Desert

Morning: A Slow Morning Take your time over breakfast. If the balloon could not fly yesterday, this is your second chance. Check out at noon and leave your bags with the riad.

Afternoon: To Agafay Your driver collects you after lunch for the drive of about 45 minutes to an hour into the Agafay desert. Settle into your tent and spend the afternoon by the pool as the light changes over the hills.

Evening: Dinner Under the Stars Watch the hills turn gold, then sit down to dinner at the camp. After dark, step away from the lights and look up. Out here the sky is full of stars.

Overnight: Inara Camp or similar Meals: Breakfast and dinner

Day 6: Agafay to Nairobi

Morning: Breakfast in the Hills Wake up to the silence of the desert and take breakfast looking out at the Atlas. Pack slowly.

Afternoon: To the Airport Your driver collects you from the camp for the drive of about 50 minutes to Marrakech Menara Airport and your late afternoon flight.

Evening: Flying Home Your flight stops in Casablanca and flies on overnight to Doha.

Meals: Breakfast

Day 7: Arriving Home

Morning: Doha Change planes in Doha early in the morning for your flight to Nairobi.

Afternoon: Home Land at JKIA in the early afternoon, with the medina and the desert behind you.

Meals: None included
