Affordable Proposal Nakuru Safari | 3 Days 2 Nights
Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar
An Affordable Proposal Nakuru Safari, planned entirely by one of you.
The hardest part of proposing is not the question. It is the two weeks before it, when you are trying to organise something meaningful without leaving a single clue lying around.
This package is built to be booked by one person. You tell us what you are planning, we handle everything from that point, and to the person you are proposing to it looks like nothing more than a weekend safari you booked on a whim. No suspicious phone calls, no venue emails landing in a shared inbox, no moment where they start asking why you keep checking your watch.
What makes Lake Nakuru work for this is the private vehicle. You have your own Toyota Hiace with your own driver guide for all three days, which means there is no group to manage, no other couples in the back row and nobody else's schedule to work around. Your driver knows what is happening and they do not. He can take the road you need at the hour you need it, stop where you asked him to stop, and make all of it look like an ordinary part of the drive.
The park itself does the rest. You are staying inside the gate at Lake Nakuru Lodge, so on the second afternoon you climb up to the escarpment viewpoints with the whole lake laid out below, the light going gold across the water and the drowned acacia woodland standing in the shallows. It is the kind of view that makes people go quiet on their own, which is exactly what you want in the seconds before you ask.
Then you have a night and a full morning afterwards to just be engaged, somewhere beautiful, with nothing else booked.
Three days. Two nights. One question.

About Package
More information about this package
Booked by one person, start to finish: Everything is arranged through a single point of contact at Baecation Adventures so no confirmations, invoices or itineraries reach your partner. If you share an email address or a calendar, tell us at booking and we will work around it.
A viewpoint that earns the moment: The escarpment above Lake Nakuru looks down across the entire lake and the submerged acacia woodland standing in the shallows. Late afternoon light on that water is genuinely striking, and your driver guide can have you there at the right hour without it looking planned.
Your own vehicle and a driver who is in on it: The Toyota Hiace tour van with its opening viewing roof stays with you for all three days, from your Nairobi pickup to your Nairobi drop off. That privacy is the whole mechanism. It lets your driver guide be briefed, it lets the timing be yours, and it means no strangers in the back seat during the moment.
Inside the gate, which buys you the light: Lake Nakuru Lodge sits within the national park, so you can be out at first light and still be at a viewpoint at the end of the day without racing the six o'clock gate closing. Couples staying in Nakuru town do not get either of those hours.
Kenya's first rhino sanctuary: Fenced and compact, this is one of the most reliable places in the country to see both black and white rhino, alongside Rothschild's giraffe. Even before the question gets asked, you are having a genuinely good safari, which is what keeps the cover story believable.
Somewhere to land afterwards: Rooms at the lodge open onto a private balcony with lake or escarpment views, with a separate sitting area, a deep soaking bath and a pool and terrace outside. The evening after is looked after, and so is the morning.
The ring stays with you: We never take custody of a ring, and we never hide one in a cake, a glass or a napkin. Too many things go wrong. It stays in your pocket, which is the only place it is genuinely safe.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
Affordable Proposal Nakuru Safari Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
Morning: Leaving without a fuss
Pickup from your Nairobi home or hotel at 7:00 am in your private Toyota Hiace tour van. The road climbs northwest onto the Rift Valley escarpment, where the viewpoint opens onto the whole valley floor. Stop as long as you like. As far as your partner is concerned this is simply a good start to a good weekend.
Afternoon: Arriving inside the park
Through the gate and in to the lodge, roughly three hours from Nairobi with the stop. Check in, lunch on the terrace, then a few slow hours by the pool. Your coordinator will have already spoken to the lodge, so nothing needs handling by you on arrival.
Evening: First game drive
Out with the roof open in the late afternoon, down toward the shore as the animals move to water. Buffalo in the open, waterbuck in the shallows and a real chance at rhino. Dinner back at the lodge afterwards, no agenda.
Day 2: The day
Morning: Out before the heat
An early drive through the rhino territory and along the acacia line where Rothschild's giraffe browse. First light is when the park is at its most alive and the photographs are at their best, which matters more today than usual. Back for a long breakfast.
Afternoon: Up to the escarpment
A slow midday, then out again as the light starts to turn. Your driver guide takes the road up to the viewpoints above the lake, timed so you arrive when the water has gone gold and the escarpment is throwing long shadows. If you have asked us for a sundowner setup, it is waiting. What happens next is yours.
Evening: Dinner as two engaged people
Back to the lodge for a private table arranged in advance, away from the main restaurant. Cake if you want one, champagne if you want it, or nothing at all beyond the two of you working out how to word the message to your mothers.
Day 3: The morning after
Morning: One more drive
An early game drive before breakfast on a different loop from the previous days. Everything looks slightly different when the biggest thing on your mind has already happened.
Afternoon: Back to Nairobi
Breakfast, checkout and the drive south, with your van dropping you at your Nairobi address in the mid afternoon.
