Affordable Road Safari to Masai Mara | 3 Days 2 Nights
Masai Mara Hotels & Lodges
Kenya Road Safaris
Kenya's most famous reserve, reached by road, with a real lodge, a real price and a real itinerary, not a placeholder.
This is the classic Kenya road safari to the Masai Mara: a drive out of Nairobi through the Great Rift Valley towards Narok, into a reserve that holds the country's densest concentration of lion, and, between July and October, the Great Migration itself.
It is built as a flexible base package, ideal for first time Mara visitors, small groups, or anyone who wants a straightforward, well run safari without an occasion attached to it. You will stay at Keekorok Lodge or similar, genuinely inside the reserve boundary, with two full days of guided game drives and a driver-guide who knows the terrain.
No vague placeholders, no guesswork on price, just a clear plan for what three days in the Mara actually looks like.

About Package
More information about this package
A genuine in-reserve stay. Keekorok Lodge sits on an 80 acre site directly in the path of the Great Migration, with a spring fed hippo pool on the grounds, a guest pool and a game viewing deck, roughly 3.7 km from Keekorok Airstrip, inside the reserve rather than on its edge.
Honest road transfer timing. Nairobi to Keekorok Lodge is approximately 270 km and 5 to 6 hours by road via Narok town and Sekenani Gate, tarmac most of the way with a murram stretch inside the reserve. A genuine single day road trip is not realistic at this distance; if a shorter visit is what you want, ask us about the flight option below instead.
Flexible group size, shared or private vehicle. This package runs as a shared group joining safari vehicle by default (6 to 7 guests plus driver-guide), the most cost effective way to see the Mara, with a private vehicle available as an upgrade for families, couples or small groups who prefer it.
A real flight alternative for time-pressed travellers. Safarilink, AirKenya, Fly540 and Jambo Jet all fly Wilson Airport to Mara airstrips in around 45 to 60 minutes; this is the only realistic way to make a single day Masai Mara visit work.
Migration-season relevance (July to October). Travelling in this window puts you within reach of the Mara River crossings, one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles on the continent.
Two guided game drives a day, morning and late afternoon, the windows when wildlife activity is highest.
Cultural visits available. A guided Maasai village visit can be added to either full day in the reserve, ask your driver-guide or add it at booking.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
3-Day Affordable Road Safari Itinerary to Masai Mara with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
Your journey begins early, with pickup from your Nairobi residence or hotel before the city traffic builds. From there, it's a steady drive out through the Rift Valley and on to Narok town, where we pause for refreshments and a chance to stretch before continuing into the reserve itself. Once you reach Keekorok Lodge, you'll check in and settle down to lunch, giving you time to relax after the road.
By mid-afternoon, once the heat has softened, you'll head out on your first game drive of the trip. Then, as the light starts to fade, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and your first night surrounded by the sounds of the Mara.
Day 2: Full Day Game Viewing
This is your one full day inside the reserve, so we start early. After breakfast, you'll set out on a morning game drive, timed to catch the plains at their most active. From there, you'll head back to the lodge for lunch, and the rest of the midday hours are yours to enjoy, whether that means the pool, the deck, or simply resting before the next drive.
As afternoon turns to evening, you'll go out again, this time with the option of swapping in a guided Maasai village visit if you'd like a break from game viewing. Either way, you'll be back at the lodge in time for dinner and a second night under the stars.
Day 3: Final Game Drive and Return
Your last morning starts the same way, with an early breakfast followed by one final game drive before checkout. Once you're back at the lodge, you'll wrap up, say goodbye to the Mara, and begin the drive back toward Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon depending on the road.
