This Affordable Surprise Amboseli Safari lets you whisk your partner away for three days of elephants and open plains, with the real reason saved for the tent.
All your partner needs to know is to keep the dates free and pack for hot days and cool mornings. You handle the rest with us, quietly. The van arrives at your door, the road heads south, and the questions start somewhere around Emali.
The destination is Amboseli, where big elephant herds cross open plains and, on clear mornings and evenings, Kilimanjaro rises from across the border in Tanzania. The mountain is often wrapped in cloud, so we never promise it, but the early drives give you the best chance. You stay two nights at Sentrim Amboseli, a tented camp on the border of the national park, a few minutes from Kimana Gate, with a private safari van and your own driver guide for the whole trip.
The reveal waits in the tent. When your partner walks in, the tent is set up for the occasion, and on the bed is a card that tells them why they are here. Then you press play: short voice notes from family and friends that you have gathered in secret before the trip, each one saying why this person deserves a surprise. From that moment, the trip belongs to both of you.

Home Base: Sentrim Amboseli is a 60 tent camp on land bordering the national park, roughly 3 km from Kimana Gate. It is close enough to the park that early drives start with wildlife rather than a long commute.
The Reveal Tent: Your canvas tent has an en suite bathroom, hot showers, a private veranda and a tea and coffee tray. It is also where the surprise is revealed, set up before you arrive.
Everything Catered: Full board means breakfast, lunch and dinner at the camp restaurant, so nobody has to plan a single meal.
Pool Time: The outdoor pool is there for the hot middle hours, when the animals rest and so can you.
Local Character: Maasai crafts and design shape the camp's shared spaces, reflecting the community land around Amboseli.
Your Own Van and Guide: A private Toyota Hiace with a pop up roof and your own driver guide for all three days. Your guide knows the plan and keeps the secret on the road.
The Reveal: An arrival tent setup, a printed card that explains the trip, and the voice notes you collect in advance, played the moment your partner walks in.
Park Fees Paid: Three daily park tickets for both of you are included, so the gate is never a giveaway at the wrong moment.

Day 1: The Mystery Drive
Morning: The Van at the Door We arrive at 6:30am at your home or hotel in Nairobi. Your partner knows only that a trip is happening. The route runs down Mombasa Road to Emali and then south through Kimana, and your guide deflects the guessing all the way.
Afternoon: The Reveal You arrive at Sentrim Amboseli, and your partner walks into a tent already set up for the occasion. On the bed is a card explaining why you are here. Then you press play on the voice notes you have gathered. From here, the trip belongs to both of you. After lunch, you head out together through Kimana Gate for a first drive among the elephants.
Evening: First Night Together Dinner at camp, still talking about the messages, with the night sounds of the bush around your tent.
Day 2: Amboseli, Just the Two of You
Morning: Dawn Drive Out at first light, when the herds are on the move and Kilimanjaro has its best chance of showing. Back to camp for a late breakfast.
Afternoon: Rest, Then the Swamps Lunch, time by the pool, then an afternoon drive along the swamps, where elephants wade and graze in the green.
Evening: Dinner Under the Stars A relaxed last dinner at camp, with no plans for the evening except each other.
Day 3: The Way Home
Morning: Sunrise Drive One final early drive together, then back to camp for breakfast and checkout.
Afternoon: Northbound The road back through Kimana and Emali, with a stop for lunch along the way at your own cost.
Evening: Home We drop you both at your home or hotel in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on traffic.
