Affordable Victoria Falls Couple Getaway from Nairobi | 5 Days 4 Nights
A'Zambezi River Lodge and Avani Victoria Falls Resort or similar
Five days on both sides of Victoria Falls for two: two nights on the Zambezi in Zimbabwe, two nights inside the national park in Zambia, a guided walk through the rainforest, a sundowner cruise and afternoon tea for two at The Royal Livingstone, in one price.
Affordable Victoria Falls Couple Getaway from Nairobi: five days and four nights with return economy flights from JKIA on Kenya Airways and checked baggage on your fare. You fly into Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and home from Livingstone in Zambia. Kenyan passport holders need no visa for either country. You stay two nights with breakfast in a river facing room at A'Zambezi River Lodge, then cross the Victoria Falls Bridge for two nights with breakfast at Avani Victoria Falls Resort, a short walk from the falls.
Your days take in a guided walk along the rainforest paths on the Zimbabwe side and a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi with drinks and snacks. On the Zambian side you walk to the falls from your hotel and spend an afternoon over high tea for two at The Royal Livingstone. All transfers, the border crossing and your park entry on both sides are arranged. You need a yellow fever certificate. Your planner walks you through it. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below. One Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.
Victoria Falls belongs to two countries. The Zambezi forms the border. The falls are shared between Zimbabwe and Zambia, with a steel bridge built in 1905 spanning the gorge between them. Most visitors see one side. This getaway gives you both, at a slow pace, with a different hotel on each bank.
The first two nights are on the Zimbabwe side, where most of the viewpoints face the long curtain of the Main Falls. A'Zambezi River Lodge sits on the riverbank upstream, with river facing rooms and a pool. You walk the rainforest paths with a guide and spend an evening on the river with a cold drink as the hippos surface.
Then you cross the bridge to Avani Victoria Falls Resort in Zambia. It stands inside Mosi oa Tunya National Park, with a gate from the grounds to the falls, so the water is a few minutes away on foot. Zebras graze on the lawns. Next door on the riverbank is its sister hotel, The Royal Livingstone, where an afternoon tea for two waits for you before your last evening.

About Package
More information about this package
Your hotels: Two nights at A'Zambezi River Lodge in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) in a Standard Double Room facing the river, then two nights at Avani Victoria Falls Resort in Livingstone (Zambia) in a Garden View Room (or comparable hotels confirmed at booking) with breakfast every morning.
A'Zambezi River Lodge: Every room has a balcony or patio. The lodge has an outdoor pool with a poolside bar, a spa and the Amulonga restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its free shuttle runs guests to town and the falls. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at 10am.
Avani Victoria Falls Resort: Avani has 212 rooms inside Mosi oa Tunya National Park, with a pool, a poolside bar and the Theatre of Food restaurant for breakfast and dinner. A short walk through the grounds brings you to a private gate to the falls, open from 6am to 6pm. Zebras, impala and giraffes roam the grounds. A free shuttle runs to The Royal Livingstone next door. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at 11am. Avani welcomes families, so expect children around the pool in school holidays.
Flights in and out: Kenya Airways flies nonstop from JKIA to Victoria Falls in about three hours and fifteen minutes and home from Livingstone, with checked baggage on your fare. You land mid morning and fly home in the early evening. Both airports are one hour behind Nairobi.
Crossing the bridge: On Day 3 your driver takes you through the Zimbabwe border post, across the Victoria Falls Bridge and through the Zambian border post to Avani, which takes about an hour. You get exit and entry stamps on each side, so keep your passports and yellow fever cards in your hand luggage.
The Zimbabwe side: Your guide walks you along the rainforest paths in the national park, from the Devil's Cataract past the Main Falls and Horseshoe Falls to the Rainbow Falls, with the gorge open below each viewpoint. Your park entry is included.
The Zambian side: From Avani you walk to the Eastern Cataract and across the Knife Edge Bridge, a footbridge over the gorge facing the falls. Your park entry is included. From October to December the Zambian side can run almost dry, so you see the bare rock face and the gorge more than the water. From March to May the spray on the footbridge soaks you in seconds.
High tea for two: At The Royal Livingstone you sit down to afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and pastries, a choice of teas and a welcome glass of bubbles each. High tea is served from 3pm to 5pm.
On the river: A sundowner cruise on the wide, calm Zambezi above the falls, with local drinks and snacks on board. Hippos, crocodiles and elephants are often seen along the banks and islands, though no sighting is promised.
Before you fly: Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Zimbabwe or Zambia. Each of you needs a passport valid for at least six months from the day you land, with at least three blank pages for the stamps on both sides. You also each need a yellow fever certificate, with the vaccine given at least 10 days before you fly. Carry your return tickets, both hotel vouchers, a bank card and some US dollars in small notes.
Full entry guide: Every entry rule, with the official links, is explained on our Victoria Falls page at baecation.co.ke/victoria-falls.
Malaria: The whole Zambezi valley is a malaria area all year. See a doctor or travel clinic about malaria tablets before you fly, use repellent from late afternoon and sleep under a net where one is provided.
Health in Zambia: Zambia declared a cholera outbreak at the end of September 2026, with cases in Southern Province, where Livingstone lies. Drink bottled water, eat food that is freshly cooked and hot, wash your hands often and ask your travel clinic about the cholera vaccine. Your planner sends you the latest advice before you fly.
Money: US dollars are used for almost everything in Victoria Falls, but cash machines often run out, so bring small, clean notes for tips and taxis. Change money only at banks or licensed bureaux, never on the street. You cannot leave Zimbabwe with more than USD 2,000 in cash.
Wildlife: Elephants, buffalo and warthogs walk through Victoria Falls town after dark. Wild animals also roam the grounds at Avani. Take a taxi in the evening in Zimbabwe, keep your distance from any animal and never feed the monkeys.
Staying safe: Both towns are used to visitors and calm by day. Curio sellers near the falls and the bridge can be persistent. A polite no is enough. Do not photograph police, soldiers, border posts or government buildings on either side. Keep cash out of sight.
Travel cover: Private clinics in Zimbabwe ask for payment, often in cash, before they treat anyone. Medical care in Zambia is limited too. We strongly recommend travel insurance with medical cover and evacuation. We tell you straight away if official advice changes before you fly.
One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner checks your passports and yellow fever cards with you, sends your e tickets and vouchers before you fly, books the border transfer, sets up any occasion you add and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If a flight moves or a day needs to change, you message one person instead of four companies.
