Affordable Victoria Falls Package from Nairobi | 4 Days 3 Nights
A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar
Three nights on the banks of the Zambezi with breakfast, a direct Kenya Airways flight that lands mid morning, a guided walk through the rainforest in front of the falls and a sundowner cruise on the river above them, in one price.
Affordable Victoria Falls Package from Nairobi: four days and three nights with direct return economy flights from JKIA on Kenya Airways and checked baggage on your fare. Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Zimbabwe, so there is no visa fee and no embassy queue. You stay three nights with breakfast in a river facing room at A'Zambezi River Lodge on the Zimbabwe side, with airport transfers on arrival and departure.
Your days take in a guided walk along the rainforest paths in front of the falls, with your national park entry included. You also take a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi with drinks and snacks. One full day is left free for the two of you. You need a yellow fever certificate. Your planner walks you through it. One price per person sharing covers the flights, hotel, transfers and every experience listed below. One Baecation planner stays with you on WhatsApp from booking to landing home.
You hear Victoria Falls before you see it. A low roar carries across town. On most days a column of spray stands above the trees like smoke, which is why the old name is Mosi oa Tunya, the smoke that thunders. Up close the Zambezi drops into a narrow basalt gorge along a front about 1.7 kilometres wide. The spray falls back as rain on the forest that grows along the edge. On a sunny morning there is almost always a rainbow somewhere in it.
We base you on the Zimbabwe side on purpose. Most of the viewpoints face the falls from here. This side also keeps flowing even late in the year, when the Zambian side can thin to a few channels. A'Zambezi River Lodge sits on the riverbank a few kilometres upstream, away from the noise of town, with river facing rooms, a pool and a free shuttle into town and to the falls.
The flight is short and lands mid morning, so the trip is paced for two people on holiday rather than a race. One morning in the rainforest with a guide, one evening on the river, one whole day for whatever the two of you choose and a slow last morning before your evening flight home.

About Package
More information about this package
Your lodge: Three nights at A'Zambezi River Lodge in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) or a comparable hotel confirmed at booking, in a Standard Double Room facing the river, with breakfast every morning.
At the lodge: Every room has a balcony or patio. The lodge has an outdoor pool with a poolside bar, a spa and the Amulonga restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Check in is from 2pm and check out is at 10am.
Where you are: The lodge stands on the bank of the Zambezi upstream of the falls, about a seven minute drive from the falls entrance. Its free shuttle runs guests to town and the falls. Victoria Falls Airport is about 30 minutes away by car.
Direct flights: Kenya Airways flies nonstop from JKIA to Victoria Falls in about three hours and fifteen minutes, with checked baggage on your fare. You land mid morning and fly home in the early evening, so both travel days give you time at the falls. Victoria Falls is one hour behind Nairobi.
The falls with a guide: Your guide walks you along the rainforest paths in the national park, from the Devil's Cataract past the Main Falls and Horseshoe Falls to the Rainbow Falls, with the gorge open below each viewpoint. Your entry to the national park is included.
On the river: A sundowner cruise on the wide, calm Zambezi above the falls, with local drinks and snacks on board. Hippos, crocodiles and elephants are often seen along the banks and islands, though no sighting is promised.
Which month: The falls run all year on this side. From December to February the river is rising and the views are clear. From March to May the falls are at their fullest, the spray is heavy and in places you will see more mist than water. From October to December the Zambian side can run almost dry while the Zimbabwe side keeps flowing.
You will get wet: In the rainforest the spray drifts across the paths like light rain. At high water it pours. Wear clothes that dry fast and shoes with grip, carry a light rain jacket and keep your phone in a waterproof pouch.
Before you fly: Kenyan passport holders need no visa for Zimbabwe. Each of you needs a passport valid for at least six months from the day you land, with at least three blank pages, as every border crossing adds stamps. You also each need a yellow fever certificate, with the vaccine given at least 10 days before you fly. Carry your return tickets, lodge voucher, a bank card and some US dollars in small notes.
Full entry guide: Every entry rule, with the official links, is explained on our Victoria Falls page at baecation.co.ke/victoria-falls.
Malaria: Victoria Falls lies in the Zambezi valley, a malaria area all year. See a doctor or travel clinic about malaria tablets before you fly, use repellent from late afternoon and sleep under a net where one is provided.
Money: US dollars are used for almost everything in Victoria Falls, but cash machines often run out. Bring enough small, clean notes for tips, taxis and crafts. Refuse torn notes in change. Change money only at banks or licensed bureaux, never on the street.
Wildlife in town: Elephants, buffalo and warthogs walk through Victoria Falls town, especially after dark. Take a taxi in the evening rather than walking, keep your distance from any animal and follow your guide.
Staying safe: The town is used to visitors and calm by day. Curio sellers near the falls and the bridge can be persistent. A polite no is enough. Do not photograph police, soldiers, border posts or government buildings. Keep cash out of sight.
Travel cover: Private clinics in Zimbabwe ask for payment, often in cash, before they treat anyone. We strongly recommend travel insurance with medical cover and evacuation. We tell you straight away if official advice changes before you fly.
One planner, start to finish: Your Baecation planner checks your passports and yellow fever cards with you, sends your e tickets and vouchers before you fly and stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout. If a flight moves or a day needs to change, you message one person instead of four companies.
Package Itinerary
The package itinerary is as follows
Affordable Victoria Falls Package Itinerary with Baecation Adventures from Nairobi
Kenya Airways flies to Victoria Falls on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, leaving JKIA at about 07:25 and landing at about 09:40 local time, as Victoria Falls is one hour behind Nairobi. The flight home leaves at about 18:00 and lands at JKIA at about 22:10 the same night. This plan follows the Friday to Monday flights. On other days your planner routes one of your flights through Livingstone in Zambia, which Kenya Airways serves on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with a road transfer across the Victoria Falls Bridge. Your planner confirms the exact flights on your written quote before you pay. The national park in front of the falls opens every day from early morning to evening. The heaviest spray comes from March to May. The rains fall from about late November to early April, usually as afternoon storms. If the river or a storm stops your cruise, it moves to Day 3.
Day 1: Nairobi to Victoria Falls
Morning: Documents in One Folder Put your passports, yellow fever cards, printed return e tickets, lodge voucher, a bank card and some small US dollar notes in one folder for your hand luggage. Your flight leaves JKIA early and lands in Victoria Falls mid morning. Hand your yellow fever cards over with your passports at the health desk, then meet the lodge driver for the drive of about 30 minutes to the river.
Afternoon: On the Riverbank Leave your bags and have lunch at the lodge. Your room is ready from 2pm. Check in, open the balcony doors to the river and spend the afternoon by the pool.
Evening: Sundowner on the Zambezi Your boat collects you for a sundowner cruise on the river above the falls. Drift past the islands with a cold drink as hippos surface nearby and the spray of the falls stands up downstream. Your driver brings you back to the lodge for dinner.
Overnight: A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar Meals: Drinks and snacks on the cruise
Day 2: The Smoke That Thunders
Morning: The Rainforest Paths After breakfast, the shuttle takes you to the falls, where your guide meets you at the entrance. Walk the paths through the rainforest from the Devil's Cataract to the Main Falls and on towards the Rainbow Falls, stopping at each viewpoint as the spray drifts over you. Keep your phone in its pouch until you are ready for the photo.
Afternoon: Town and the Bridge Have lunch in town, then walk the short road towards the Victoria Falls Bridge for the view down the gorge. The Zimbabwe border post sits at the town end of the bridge, so carry your passports and ask your guide what is needed on the day before you go further.
Evening: Your Evening Take a taxi to dinner in town or eat at the lodge as the river goes quiet. Elephants cross the roads after dark, so ride rather than walk.
Overnight: A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar Meals: Breakfast
Day 3: A Day for the Two of You
Morning: Nowhere to Be Sleep in and take a slow breakfast facing the river. If you have added the helicopter flight, the Zambian side or the Chobe day trip from the list below, today is the day.
Afternoon: Pool or Market Rest by the pool or take the shuttle into town for the craft market. Bargain with a smile and pay in small notes.
Evening: The Last Night This evening is held for your cruise if the weather moved it. If not, dress up a little for your last dinner and ask your planner for a table in town.
Overnight: A'Zambezi River Lodge or similar Meals: Breakfast
Day 4: Victoria Falls to Nairobi
Morning: A Slow Last Morning Take your time over breakfast. Check out at 10am and your planner arranges a safe place for your bags until your transfer.
Afternoon: Last Look Head back into town for a last coffee and any gifts. Your driver collects you in the afternoon for the airport.
Evening: Flying Home Your flight leaves Victoria Falls in the early evening and lands at JKIA the same night, with three nights on the Zambezi behind you.
Meals: Breakfast
