Best Mombasa Mid-Range Package Beach Holiday — Pool Facing Rooms, Half Board, Swahili Culture & SGR | 3 Days 2 Nights
Severin Sea Lodge, Bamburi Beach (recommended 4-star, well-loved by couples)
Mid-Range Beach Holidays
There are cities that feel like they were made for two people. Mombasa is one of them. From the moment the SGR pulls into Mombasa Terminus and the warm coastal air finds you through the window, something shifts. The pace slows, the colours deepen, and suddenly the only thing that matters is the person sitting next to you.
This 3-day, 2-night Mombasa Mid-Range Package Beach Holiday is built for couples who want to experience the real coast. Not just a resort pool, but the living, breathing soul of a city that has been shaped by Arab traders, Portuguese explorers, and Swahili culture for over a thousand years. Your pool-facing room at a well-appointed beachfront resort is your sanctuary. Half-board meals mean your mornings and evenings are taken care of. Everything in between belongs to you and Mombasa.
Your journey begins in Nairobi. We pick you up, transfer you to Syokimau SGR Terminus, and from there the coast comes to meet you, green hills flattening into baobab country, the air warming with every kilometre south. Approximately four and a half hours later, Mombasa opens its arms.
Day two is given entirely to the city itself. Fort Jesus — a 16th-century Portuguese fortress standing sentinel over the sea. The winding lanes of the Old Town where Swahili architecture leans over narrow streets and the smell of biryani drifts from open doorways. A local market, a fresh coconut, a conversation with someone whose great-grandmother knew this coastline when dhows were the only way in or out. This is the Mombasa that stays with you.
Day three begins slowly — breakfast at the resort, a last walk along the beach, the sound of the ocean one more time before your private transfer back to Mombasa SGR and the journey home to Nairobi. You will leave carrying more than a suitcase.

Day 2: Fort Jesus, Old Town & Swahili Culture
Wake up to a full breakfast at the resort.
Morning guided cultural tour of Mombasa — your guide takes you through Fort Jesus, the UNESCO-listed Portuguese fortress with sweeping views of the harbour. Then into the Old Town — narrow Swahili streets, carved wooden doors, the smell of spice and pilau, a world that has barely changed in centuries.
Visit a local market together, taste coastal street food, and discover why Mombasa's culture is one of Kenya's most layered and fascinating.
Return to the resort for lunch (own account) and a slow afternoon — swim, read, walk the beach, or simply do nothing at all.
Optional evening: sundowner drinks at the resort bar as the sun melts into the horizon.
Half-board dinner at the resort.
